Ronnie Cooke, a lawyer and a college friend of Harry's, is inspired to become a teacher. New suspicions about Jeremy and Meredith arise. Harvey insults a student. Marla is asked to sponsor a club for overweight girls.
Tropes present in the episode:
- Adults Are Useless: A subverted example. Isaiah's father gets enlightened about his son's gang activities, and he actually thanks Harry for intervening.
- An Arm and a Leg: Meredith turns out to be missing a hand.
- Freak Out: Marla goes off on a couple of students who approach her to sponsor a "fat girls" club.
- Hello, Attorney!: Ronnie, played by the stunning Jeri Ryan. A student even asks to see her breasts (she declines).
- Pragmatic Hero: Harry has Isaiah and Miguel, who are members of rival gangs, duke it out in the Dungeon to defuse the rivalry between them.
- What the Hell, Hero?:
- Harry gets criticized for having two students engage in a fistfight on school grounds.
- Steven chides Marla's harsh response to a pair of students asking her to sponsor a "fat girls" club.
