Recap / Bluey Helicopter

Go To

Bluey is disappointed when her mum has to cancel a playdate Bluey was looking forward to. Throughout the school day, she compensates by pretending she's a helicopter pilot, with total control over where the helicopter goes and what it does. But the crazy ideas of its passengers- her friends- show her that unexpected changes can also be good.

This episode includes the following tropes:

  • Continuity Nod: Rusty and Jack continue playing Army together.
  • Short-Lived Aerial Escape: Rusty and Jack pretend that they're soldiers being extracted from danger by Bluey's helicopter...and that it's shot by a missile and needs to make an emergency landing. Bluey wants to pretend that she dodged the missile, but eventually accedes to their suggestions.
Rusty: Well...it's just part of our game to go down.
    Jack: It's more fun.
  • Spear Carrier: The Terriers act as kangaroos that Indy needs to rescue from a bushfire. All they do is bounce around, but Bluey concedes that that looks more fun than being a pilot and joins them near the end of the spisode.
  • Suspect Is Hatless: A non-police example. When Winton is directing Bluey to his dad's house, he says that it has a pool and "it's the one with the shallow end and the deep end!"...a description that applies to more pools than not.
