Recap / Bluey Flat Pack

Go To

  • But Now I Must Go: As part of their game of pretending to be mother and daughter, Bingo (the child) eventually grows up to invent a rocket for exploring space, which she shows off to Bluey (the mother). Bingo and Bluey see each other off before the former blasts off into space in her rocket.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: The girls' game is unwittingly framed with themes of evolution, religion and the stages of life, with Bluey and Bingo pretending to be respectively mother and daughter through it all, and their parents as the powers that be. Towards the end, when Bluey (playing an aged mother) sees off Bingo (playing a grown daughter), the former wonders what's left for her. That's when Chili and Bandit (the deities) offer Bluey a seat with them. She walks through the very landscape of everything she and Bingo built before she takes Chili's hand and joins them on the newly-built porch swing. Aptly enough, Bandit comments "This is heaven!"
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: While trying to follow instructions on making an Ikea-style porch swing set, Chili advises Bandit he should take note of the dog building the swing in the instruction manual. To this, Bandit defiantly scoffs "I'm not taking orders from a cartoon dog!"
