* CharacterDevelopment: Bluey starts out rather rigid and obstinate concerning how she uses her titular helicopter, if only to make up for how she's not going to visit Honey for watercolor like she wanted. However, as the episode progresses, so does Bluey's ability to not only improvise, but also practice flexibility for her "passengers". As a result, she unwittingly learns to accept she can't always have her way. In the end, when Chili confirms that they won't be able to make it for watercolor with Honey, Bluey is predictably disappointed, but still takes it in stride.

* AnAesop: Sometimes you have to be flexible and accept changes as they come up.

* SuspectIsHatless: A non-police example. When Winton is directing Bluey to his dad's house, he says that it has a pool and "it's the one with the shallow end and the deep end!"...a description that applies to more pools than not.

* ShortLivedAerialEscape: Rusty and Jack pretend that they're soldiers being extracted from danger by Bluey's helicopter...and that it's shot by a missile and needs to make an emergency landing. Bley wants to pretend that she dodged the missile, but eventually accedes to their suggestions.

Bluey is disappointed when her mum has to cancel a playdate Bluey was looking forward to. Throughout the school day, she compensates by pretending she's a helicopter pilot, with total control over where the helicopter goes and what it does. But the crazy ideas of its passengers- her friends- show her that unexpected changes can also be good.

!!This episode includes the following tropes:

* ShortLivedAerialEscape: Rusty and Jack pretend that they're soldiers being extracted from danger by Bluey's helicopter...and that it's shot by a missile and needs to make an emergency landing. Bley wants to pretend that she dodged the missile, but eventually accedes to their suggestions.
-->'''Rusty:''' Well...it's just part of our game to go down.\\
'''Jack:''' [[RuleOfDrama It's more fun.]]
* SpearCarrier: The Terriers act as kangaroos that Indy needs to rescue from a bushfire. All they do is bounce around, but Bluey concedes that that looks more fun than being a pilot and joins them near the end of the spisode.
* SuspectIsHatless: A non-police example. When Winton is directing Bluey to his dad's house, he says that it has a pool and "it's the one with the shallow end and the deep end!"...a description that applies to more pools than not.
