11-year-old Ben, Gwen, and friends go on the adventure of a lifetime in their own backyard.

Tropes in this episode

  • Bait-and-Switch: It seems that the bus driver has also been possessed by the same phenomenon as the other grown-ups. But then as soon as the children run away screaming, it turns out the lady simply had a lash in her eye.
  • The Bus Came Back: Cooper makes his only appearance in Omniverse here.
  • Call-Forward: Ben is introduced playing Soccer.
  • Continuity Snarl: Pretty much everything to do with Kevin in this episode contradicts his reappearance in Ben 10: Alien Force.
  • Hugh Mann: The Ectonurites fail to be convincingly human. They're seen using human objects while clearly not understanding what they're actually for, like vacuuming the front lawn. On top of that, they're unused to depth perception, so they keep one eye closed at all times.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When Ben, Gwen and Lucy try to tell Grandpa Max about how strange the adults have been acting lately, he initially dismisses it as just their imaginations going wild. But once they describe how Mr. Baumann was acting strange, he changes his tune.
Max: I'm sure it's nothing. Sometimes adults can be driven to their wit's end by you kids. You’re, how should we say, "youthful enthusiasm".
Lucy: But, Mr. Baumann was totally fine until he came back from the old Collins' house.
Ben: Yeah, suddenly he was… nice.
    Gwen: To Ben.
    Max: (gasps) Something's definitely wrong.
  • Shout-Out: Ben discusses his “legendary” play against McDuffie, a nod to the late Dwayne McDuffie, from whom the idea of Ben being a soccer player was derived.
  • Temporary Substitute: Jonesy plays the role Rook normally fills.
  • Whole Episode Flashback: This is another episode that takes place when Ben, Gwen and Kevin were kids.
