Recap / Battle For Dream Island S2 E5b BFDIA 5b

Go To

The second part of a Multi-Part Episode in the second season of Battle for Dream Island, done as a browser game rather than an actual episode, in which the player must help FreeSmart escape from Evil Leafy, who has eaten them alive.

Tropes include:

  • Advancing Wall of Doom: In Level 52, the gang must outrun a slowly-moving wall that stretches across the entire screen. The level ends with a series of platforms and conveyor belts solely intended to slow the player down.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Lego Brick starts off as a Nice Guy, but Level 32 requires the player to kill him. In the next level, he gets revenge on Book and Match by letting them fall into his underground factory. Waffle later explains that Lego Brick really is a Nice Guy, and only did that because he has a fear of dying.
  • Comically Oversized Butt: On the thumbnail announcing the game, Firey and Coiny fit this trope.
  • Easy Level Trick: In Level 52, due to an oversight. The player can move the gang behind the wall using the Hand-Powered Recovery Center, eliminating the need to beat the level quickly.
  • Formula-Breaking Episode: Is the only episode to not be an actual animation, and is instead a playable browser Platform Game (that is still sadly incomplete). It might not be finished at all, due to the fact that Adobe Flash is discontinued.
  • Minus World: If you somehow beat Level 53 (Which is only possible with glitches) you are able to access level 54. Since a level 54 was never made, it is simply an empty void with no characters or teleporter.
  • No Ending: Sadly, the game will probably never be completed, so the ending is unknown. However, what is known is that FreeSmart managed to escape from Evil Leafy prior to the events of "No More Snow!" (but it is still unknown how they did it).
  • Shout-Out:
  • Spikes of Doom: Spikes are a recurring hazard in the game, including both stationary and moving ones.
  • Unique Enemy: Level 8 features a moving purple block with an angry face on it. Other than being slightly larger, it functions identically to a normal moving spike, yet only appears in a single level.
