Mr. Freeze has attacked Gotham again, leaving the city in the middle of a surprise cold front. To make matters worse, the power is out at Wayne Manor. Freezing cold, Tim, Duke, Cass, and Damian try to figure out how to light the fireplace. Cue chaos...
Tropes:
- Applied Phlebotinum: The alien crystals Bruce keeps in the Batcave. He apparently found them during an off-world mission with the Justice League and brought them back for study. All we know about them is that they are a powerful fuel source and should not be set on fire.
- Ash Face: Tim, Drake, Cass, and Damian end up with this after their attempt to heat up the alien crystals ends up exploding right in front of them.
- Continuity Nod: Like in "Top Chef", this isn't the first time the Bat kids have tried to do a common household chore...and failed miserably.
- Failed a Spot Check: No one paid attention to the symbol on the box of crystals saying don't set them on fire.
- Five-Second Foreshadowing: The box of crystals Cass finds literally has a symbol in the corner saying they should not be lit on fire.
- Little "No": Cass to Damian's suggestion that they chop down one of the trees in the Manor's yard for firewood.
- Tempting Fate: First Duke (who says that the mansion will stay warm) and then Tim (who doubts that anything can go wrong with lighting a strange alien crystal on fire).
