It's Christmas Eve and Santa has given Barney and the Backyard Gang a special job: take their new friend Derek to the North Pole and show him that Santa knows his new address. Aboard Barney's sleigh, the gang travels to Santa's workshop where they meet a dancing snowman, go ice skating, pretend to be elves, and learn the true meaning of Christmas from Mrs. Claus.

- Leaving Food for Santa: Michael and Amy leave out milk and cookies for Santa. The snack being untouched when they return home is how they know they got back in time.
- Santa Claus: Doesn't appear until the very end of the video. (Mrs. Claus also appears earlier.)
- Stuck in a Chimney: After the song "Waiting for Santa", Barney gets stuck trying to come down the chimney. Michael and Amy then pull him out by his feet and he crashes down coughing in a cloud of smoke.
