Chapter 128

Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Poor Pierre and Marc get mobbed by fangirls after seeing them in a magazine as part of Alya's story.
  • Irony: Despite being the rooster hero, Nathaniel isn't a morning person.
  • "No Peeking!" Request: Nathaniel has gone "boob-blind" after months of Alix breastfeeding their sons, so it really catches Marinette off-guard when he barely acknowledges her bare chest.
  • The Real Heroes: Alya's article describes Adrien and the rest of the boys as heroes for stepping up as responsible teen dads. The fact that they are also literal superheroes is only implied, considering it's a secret.
If you're like me, the last couple of years have made you think you know what a super hero is. A superhero has superpowers, dresses in a flashy costume, and punches supervillains in the face. But I've learned that there's another way to define 'superhero'. A superhero is someone who has the chance to avoid unasked-for responsibility and instead grabs it with both hands. A superhero doesn't use the fact that he's a victim as an excuse to leave his fellow victims with all the fallout of what was done to them. A superhero sees that he would be entirely justified in abandoning those who need him, and instead he gives everything he has to stay by their side.
The boys featured in this story —and all those like them—are superheroes.
  • Seinfeldian Conversation: On their way to school, Adrien and Marinette devolve into a conversation about introducing Louis to video games when he's older.
