Recap / Avengers Assemble S 3 E 25 Civil War Part 3 The Drums Of War

Go To

The Avengers find themselves captured and imprisoned by their Mighty counterparts. Luckily, Black Widow escapes and brings help in the form of Black Bolt and Medusa.

As they fight their way out, Inhumans start attacking randomly all over the world. Could this be connected to Marsh and the Inhuman Registration Act?

Tropes:

  • The Alcatraz: The show version of the Raft is a prison at the bottom of the ocean floor, designed to nullify the powers of anyone in there.
  • All for Nothing: In the last episode, the Avengers fought the Mighty Avengers to try and stop them arresting Flint, Haichi and Iso, but they're shown to have been tagged by Marsh as well.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Kamala Khan, a geeky, enthusiastic young woman with the power to stretch and embiggen herself. Not very threatening, right? Kamala under the control of Ultron gives the Mighty Avengers a very hard time, especially since they're holding back against her.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Thor starts the episode separated from Mjolnir. He's still an Asgardian with many centuries of fighting experience, however. (Though it does mean he can't fly, which is inconvenient for him.)
  • Cardboard Prison: Black Widow effortlessly manages to break in the underwater prison and free everyone.
  • Easily Forgiven: The Avengers are pretty chill about the whole being thrown in prison thing.
  • Foreshadowing: While Truman Marsh is insulting Tony, his voice tone starts matching that of Ultron's.
  • Lampshade Hanging: During the fight between the controlled Black Bolt and Medusa, she manages to get a boulder despite the fight being on a pier, not your traditional boulder stomping grounds. Falcon even asks where she got it from.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: The Mighty Avengers turn against Marsh off-screen when he demanded Ms. Marvel be registered the same as any other Inhuman.
  • Mugged for Disguise: Natasha managed to beat up one of the Guardsmen and take his armor.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Any Inhuman controlled by the implants starts getting glowing eyes.
  • The Reveal: Truman Marsh is revealed to be Ultron in disguise.
  • Sarcastic Clapping: How Truman Marsh reveals himself, just before revealing who he really is.
