"Seriously, you see the social experiments all the time, and yet does anyone ever publish their findings?"

"Stephenie Meyer can't even fall back on the Twilight parody excuse to justify her glittering vampires, because the thing she is writing is Twilight in the first place."

"However badly you have disproven or embarrassed this person, it turns out it was all a part of their master plan to get that reaction out of you, to prove some kind of point they can't seem to explain. They honestly seem to think that despite flailing uselessly in making their original argument, they're smooth enough to convince people they are a master puppeteer pulling everyone's strings."

"Even the mostly unfunny jokes that litter the film (probably as a sort of insurance policy— the perpetrators can always point to them and say that the movie was never meant to be taken seriously) can’t save King Kong from itself, because it is never so funny on purpose as it is by accident, and it is rarely funny enough by accident to be worth bothering with.
Scott "El Santo" Ashlin, on King Kong (1976)

"Lentex tried to retroactively claim that his story was a 'satire' of Lola-centred hatefics. Here's the problem: it's clearly not. Before the twist ending, there are several scenes that attempt to paint Lola in a sympathetic light, like the scene where she confides in Lincoln about her sociopathy. The first few chapters also include scenes of a younger Lola bonding with Lincoln, and Chapter 8 starts with Lola having a guilt-induced nightmare about almost getting Albert killed. If Lentex was trying to satirize hatefics, there'd be no reason to include scenes like that."
