Basic Trope: A Lovecraftian horror that was once human, but has mutated or evolved far beyond recognition.
- Straight: B'obh was once a human named Bob, but after an incident involving some cultists, was able to ascend to godhood at the expense of his human body being twisted beyond recognition.
- Exaggerated: All of humanity has evolved into ungodly abominations, unlimited in their power to the extent that the only beings that can pose a threat to them are themselves and the gods that are on equal footing with them.
- Downplayed: Humans Are Cthulhu
- Justified:
- B'obh Was Once a Man. And his ascension to godhood was either to guarantee his own self-preservation or to be able to defend the Earth from the monsters that call the void home.
- It's a Cosmic Horror Story, and the only way for humanity to adapt and survive beyond their infantile crib planet is to become as alien as the horrors running the galaxy/universe. This was done either through evolution, be it natural or artificial, or with the help of a friendly otherworldly caretaker who just wanted humanity to have a chance of integrating into eldritch society.
- Inverted: B'obh Gets Depowered Into a Ridiculously Average Guy Named Bob
- Subverted: Bob starts to mutate into something terrifying, but ends up turning into a well known animal/species.
