Basic Trope: A single character has multiple variants, all of whom can be selected as individual characters in a video game.
- Straight: In Tropemania: The Grande Deluxe, several of the character slots include Hiro, Young Hiro, Elder Hiro, Dark Hiro and Super Hiro.
- Downplayed: Moveset Clone
- Justified:
- The game was a passion project and the developers wanted the players to be able to play as all of Hiro's variants, even if those slots could've been used for more unique characters.
- Hiro is the most popular character in the game, hence why he takes up several playable slots unlike the other characters.
- The developers were suffering from Development Hell and decided to save time by simply creating multiple variants of Hiro with various tweaks to each version of the character.
- Exaggerated: Tropemania: The Grande Deluxe allows you to play as Hiro, Young Hiro, Elder Hiro, Dark Hiro, Orih, Metal Hiro, Dictator Hiro, Inverted Hiro and Heeroh.
- Emperor Evulz is an unlockable character, with all of his forms being separate playable characters in the roster.
- Averted: Tropemania: The Grande Deluxe only has Hiro, with none of his variants being playable, or reduced to alternate costumes.
