The GX4000 was an 8-bit video game console introduced by Amstrad in 1990. The console's specifications were compatible with the CPC 464plus and 6128plus, and theoretically competitive with the Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Master System (which were gaining popularity in Europe around this time), though not with the already emerging 16-bit consoles.

However, the GX4000 only played games from ROM cartridges, and only post-1990 CPCs had a cartridge slot. Most of the games released for the system were ports of games developed for the older CPC hardware, sometimes enhanced but sometimes not.

The console flopped and was discontinued within a year.
