The infamous raft massacre, which nearly earned the film an X-rating and has gone on to become one of the most notorious slasher movie scenes of all time. For those who haven't seen it, we see a group of campers paddling across a lake on a raft, when they come across a boat floating on the water. When they approach it, good ol' Cropsy jumps out, silhouetted against the sun and wielding a pair of garden shears. What follows is pure carnage, and no, the fact that the scene had to be severely edited down from its original form does not make it any less disturbing.
Cropsy himself. The makeup effects used to bring him to life (courtesy of Tom Savini) are horrifying. The fact that his appearance was based on real-life photos of burn victims makes it even worse.
