Sorry, but I'm Not Into Yuri (Warui ga Watashi wa Yuri ja nai) is a manga by Mochi Au Lait, which began serialization in @vitamin in 2020.

High school student Itsumi Toudou buys a love potion to win her homeroom teacher's heart. However, hilarity ensues when she tests it on the class committee president, Yomotsuka Makoto, who then falls in love with her. Now Toudou has to deal with her, along with the harem that she accidentally gains due to her love potion.

"I'm not into tropes!"

  • Artifact Title: The original title made perfect sense during the first few volumes, as Itsumi's main goal was to try get her male teacher's affection only for her female classmates to fall for her instead, with Itsumi being very adamant that she's not into that sort of stuff. Later chapters, however, have Itsumi slowly come to recognize her own interest in girls, and develop a more friendly relationship with her classmates, even getting together with Rin, her kouhai, during a later volume.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Ruruka's chapter begins the same way as the previous ones, with Itsumi wondering how she got in her precarious situation: in this case, having a photo shoot of Ruruka wearing multiple cosplays. However, the reveal flips things up: rather than Itsumi accidentally infatuating Ruruka with the love potion, Ruruka deliberately spikes Itsumi's drink with it, causing her to act like the lovey dovey idiot until it wears off, and the photo shoot is her punishment for this trick. Not that she seems to mind.
  • Cast of Snowflakes: No two characters look exactly alike in this story, even if some do share similarities in design.
  • Cast Full of Gay: It'd be easier to count the characters in the story that aren't either gay, or have had homoerotic subtext with another character. Even Itsumi's teacher, the guy she's been pining for since the beginning, falls in love with another male teacher instead of Itsumi.
  • Coming of Age Story: While primarily a yuri-focused comedy, the main plot essentially involves Itsumi's developing maturity, eventually recognizing that she does like girls and maturing from a sleazy, pompous jerk into a friendlier, if quirky girl.
  • Cringe Comedy: A big part of the humor in the story deals with the frankly absurd scenarios that Itsumi tends to find herself in, and her, shall we say, questionable way of dealing with them.
  • Gone Horribly Wrong: Itsumi's first attempt to use the love potion is to use it on the student council president, so that even if the potion turns out to be a sham, she won't need to feel bad if it upsets the president's stomach. Unfortunately, not only does the potion work, it works a little too well, leading Itsumi to be utterly dominated by the president until the potion wears off.
  • Harem Genre: While it starts out small, by the second volume Itsumi starts to develop a relatively sided harem composed mostly of all the girls she accidentally enamored with the love potion.
  • Love Potion: This is the main reason the plot gets going. The main character, Itsumi Toudou, buys one of these in a shady website in order to try gain her male teacher's love.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Itsumi does eventually manage to get her teacher to drink the love potion... Only for him to fall in love with a male teacher next to him, rendering Itsumi's efforts for naught.
  • Slice of Life: Love potion shenanigans aside, the story involves the wacky misadventures of Itsumi trying to get with her teacher, and after a certain point, just the general day-to-day life of our protagonist.
  • Sunken Face: Happens a few times to Toudou due to people punching her in the face.
  • Teacher/Student Romance: Itsumi's desire to get one of these drives the plot: she wants to get together with her male teacher, but there's no way he'll accept her if she asks, so she buys a shady love potion in order to try to get his love. Hilarity Ensues as her female classmates instead end up drinking it, causing Itsumi to land in many sexuality-questioning situations. And ultimately, even when the teacher does drink the love potion, he falls in love with another male teacher instead, rendering Itsumi's quest pointless.
