What am I going to do about this?

Hikari Nishinomiya is a young beautiful mistress who doesn't take the best interest in thinking about anyone's feelings but her own, including the feeling of her very own butler. Having grown tired, Jirou is told a brilliant solution from his good friend, Rene Akai, to solve the problems he's around; to use black magic to create a creature that can come to his aid whenever he's down. The two then unleash an Artificial Human created from black sludge and dark magic, mixed with influence from the Tanut Codex, a mysterious if dangerous spell book.

Kraunessa, the creature in question, is thus born into the world. She doesn't have a great idea of who's good or bad since she was just literally created, but she has a big heart determined to help people in times of need, as she was designed to be. She sets out to be kind to as many people as she possibly can, but she soon begins to notice that not everything is quite as easy as it seems...

Kraunessa the Black Stagne (Kuroki Yodomi no Hedoro-san) is a Cute Monster Girl manga created by Imitation Crystal (Game Club, Spectral Wizard) and was published from July 2016 to August 2018. While he had self-published the manga on his website when it first released, midway through the manga's run, Kadokawa would help in printing the manga for publication starting from March 2017 until the manga's end.

Kraunessa the Black Stagne contains examples of:

  • Artificial Human: Kraunessa. She was created through a combination of black sludge from the Sea of Okhotsk and dark magic through the Codex.
  • Bilingual Bonus: Kraunessa's nickname, Hedoro-san, which means sludge.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Kraunessa, being literally created and born, has no concept of good or evil, where her concept of morality is skewed and alien for human standards. Rather she has a pure heart, though how it is often portrayed is up in the air.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The Sea of Okhotsk television segment that Jirou saw in the first chapter later makes an appearance where the black sludge seen in that show is used by Rene to create Kraunessa.
  • Magical Gesture: How Kraunessa is born to begin with, through the spells used in the Tanut Codex, including a ritual.
