An acid trip that only few will understand
I'M IMMEASURABLE LAYERS INTO BOUNDLES! ARRRGGGHH!!!

Many people do not like how any series with remotely powerful characters will inevitably get powerscaled. Icarus Cosmology takes the tropes and lingo used in powerscaling communities and puts them on display in this incredibly absurd novel. Only certain people will be familiar with the references this novel provides.

Born from the essence of the "Stellar Heavenly Child", a Monster-Demon-God arises, and in the heat of its awakening, it wipes out most of creation. Upon realizing its mistake, it tries to start over in the life of an "ordinary" teenaged body, Jake Vietnam in the country known as Arathor. However, one man, who so happens to be a famous chef named Gordon Rameusy, wouldn't forgive Jake so easily for his past. Jake must form a group of friends to defeat the tyrannical rule of Gordon and save creation from certain doom.

The novel was published in February 2023; however it has since been on an indefinite hiatus as of Chapter 31.

"The Hidden Wizard" contains examples of:

  • Ambiguous Gender: Ram, one of the main characters, is stated to be beyond gender due to their he/ram pronouns. Despite this, Ram is sometimes portrayed as both male and female.
  • Beyond the Impossible: Jake has been capable of defeating beings who are considered omnipotent, as well as characters who are immortal.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: The characters address the plot of the novel many times.
    • Jake Vietnam has written and deleted entire chapters of the novel.
  • Comically Invincible Hero: The entire joke of the series is that Jake is a parody of powerscaling, and therefore has the most out-there abilities for comedic effect.
  • Complete Immortality: Jake has existed before time had a name, and will keep existing forever.
  • Deconstruction: The Hidden Wizard deconstructs the concept of powerscaling by adding characters who are immortal and omnipotent, and characters who seemingly have invincible powers, and uses Jake Vietnam as a deus ex machina to contradict them.
  • Minor Major Character: Despite the Stellar Heavenly Child seeming to be an important character, it rarely shows up.
  • Parody: Jake Vietnam is a parody of a character who was popular in the powerscaling community known as Nova Laos. Nova Laos is from "The Hybrid Mage", which is also the what the name of The Hidden Wizard is parodying.
    • Jason Bourne is a side character who is obviously a parody of Jason Bourne
    • The evil chef Gordon Rameusy is a parody of Gordon Ramsay. As well as the other evil chef, Guy Fierussy, being a parody of Guy Fieri.
    • Fodderine Autistic Aurora is a parody of the Umineko character Featherine Augustus Aurora.
    • Aaron the Absolute is a parody of the character who was popular in powerscaling communities known as Auren the Absolute.
    • Arathor itself is a parody of Vietnam.
    • Dr. Dark is a parody of the SCP character Dr. Bright.
    • The novel uses powerscaling lingo such as "outerversal" and "boundless" to parody the community.
  • Plot Armor: Jake Vietnam can get new abilities whenever the plot calls for it, regardless of what that ability is.
  • Purposely Overpowered: Jake's entire existence is to be overpowered.
  • Reference Overdosed: As it is obvious by the parody section, The Hidden Wizard is filled to the brim with references, not only to powerscaling, but famous characters as well.
  • Satire: If it was not obvious, The Hidden Wizard is a surreal, and somewhat cynical satire that points out the flaws of the powerscaling community.
  • Surreal Humor: The events of The Hidden Wizard are incredibly random and absurd to the point where they are almost inexplicable.
    • Jake Vietnam faces off with the state of Louisiana in a rap battle
    • Lotus is a sentient building who sings a cover of "Bury the Light" from "Devil May Cry 5".
    • The main characters fight a cultist who has a comically large spoon big enough to scoop up a multiverse
    • Sammy Sealand harnesses the power of the 27 citizens of Sealand.
  • The Omnipotent: Jake Vietnam is portrayed as the true omnipotent being of the novel.
