     The Chosen One and Antihero
  • There is a lot of Homoerotic Subtext between them, and they are used as examples of ships in the "Shipping" episode. In most episodes with them, JP will bring up their chemistry and the likelihood of fans shipping them (especially since they don't have any chemistry with the love interest).
  • In "Rivals"
J.P.: Neither the rival nor the hero should have any chemistry with the love interest though. That takes effort to write and we need to put all of our work into the hero’s and rival’s long deep stares into each others’ eyes, how they constantly call each others’ names, their constant obsession with what the other is doing, their every waking thought focused on what their rival is thinking, and the occasional oiled up shirtless wrestling match between them.
  • In "Antiheroes", the Chosen One is completely oblivious to Antihero's flaws. He gushes about how cool Antihero is even when insulting the Chosen One.
  • Hilariously, given that the Anti-Hero is a blatant expy of Guts and the Chosen One has a few design elements in common with Griffith... it was probably inevitable.

     JP and his Inner Critic
  • In the endcard of "Rivals", JP and Inner Critic are calling each others' name over and over, referencing earlier in the episode where Critic pointed out the Homoerotic Subtext of the rivals constantly calling each others' names.
