The novel is a satirical comedy, but it also features the protagonist, even if it's to protect his own life, trying to avert most of the horrible events of novel he transmigrated into by changing the story and ensuring that he and most of the other characters get a happy ending.

General
- Even though Luo Binghe has the protagonist halo, Shen Qingqiu is still so protective of Luo Binge that he forgets about it and still jumps in front of the boy to protect him.
Main Story
Pre-Timeskip
- Once he realizes he's transmigrated into Proud Immortal Demon Way, Shen Qingqiu makes it his mission to actually be kinder to Luo Binghe. He mainly does this because he sympathized with the character beforehand and didn't believe he deserved all of the suffering he would be put through as the protagonist of the story. He's also notably nicer to all of his disciples and fellow cultivators, who make note of his odd behavior but don't pursue it any further since they all actually prefer him that way.
- To stop Ming Fan from bullying Luo Binghe, Shen Qingqiu knocks him down with a leaf, which the System deducts 15 B-points from his account as a violation. Shen Qingqiu sighs in relief when he finds out he only got docked fifteen points and finds this act acceptable.
- Due to his better treatment of Luo Binghe, Shen Qingqiu gains a bit of a protective side for the child and Luo Binghe returns the affections by calling Shen Qingqiu "shizun". Although there are times Shen Qingqiu has to stick to the System warning him not to get too out of character, even the cold demeanor he puts on is still notably gentler around Luo Binghe.
- The way Luo Binghe starts to act around his shizun, such as pretending to trip just so he could fall into his Shen Qingqiu's arms.
- Luo Binghe always cooks food for Shen Qingqiu, and even had a pot of congee ready for his master after he woke up.
- Despite the animosity, Shen Qingqiu and Shang Qinghua share a bond of the two of them being transmigrators who ended up in the novel and are likely the only ones who could understand each other's predicament.
- As the Huan Hua Palace Sect starts showing its true colors, Gong Yixiao is the only character to hold up his morals. While he goes along with his sect's orders, he still tries to do what he knows is right, such as freeing Shen Qingqiu from prison.
- When Luo Binghe is at risk of being overcome by Xin Mo, Shen Qingqiu decides to give his former student, "a final act of kindness" by self-detonating his golden core, saving him its influence. This snaps Luo Binghe out of it as he's genuinely heartbroken that Shen Qingqiu dies and cries that he didn't want to kill him.Shen Qingqiu: Everything that's happened in the past, I'll repay it all to you today.
Post Timeskip
- Luo Binghe's dream of him as a disciple running to Shen Qingqiu.
- Even when trying to lay low, Shen Qingqiu can't help but head straight towards Cang Qiong mountain when Luo Binghe makes it known he will attack his former home.
- Although it was a ruse to drag Shen Qingqiu out of hiding, Luo Binghe ordered his underlings to not actually harm the mountain sect nor injure any of the disciples and masters who live there. It's not out of the kindness of his heart, but because he knew how much his shizun loved his sect and would never willingly tarnish such a place.
- Despite all of the heavy crimes Shen Qingqiu was accused of and dying in front of everyone, all of the gathered sects are nonetheless happy to see Shen Qinqiu is alive and well.
Extras
Deep Dream
- One night, Shen Qingqiu is absorbed into Luo Binghe's dreams again and sees flashes of his memories, most of which involve him and Luo Binghe's devotion to him. Shen Qingqiu is so moved by what he sees that once they both wake up, he is the first to make a move on his beloved.Shen Qingqiu: Tonight I feel like... I really like you.
Return to Childhood
- When Luo Binghe qi-deviates and turns into a child as a result, Shen Qingqiu can't help but dote on little Binghe, squishing his face many times and even calling him baobei at one point.
A Tale of the Marriage
- Shen Qingqiu notices Luo Binghe acting strange lately and when he confronts him about it, Luo Binghe stumbles as he proposes to Shen Qingqiu. Shen Qingqiu is at first stunned when he realizes why Luo Binghe seemed so dazed for the past few days, but his inner monologue shows how happy the idea of marrying Luo Binghe makes him. The two then perform the ceremony as they exchange drinks and Shen Qingqiu comforts Luo Binghe as they become a married couple.
Other
- Even though the advertisement itself can be funny, it is sweet that Shen Qingqiu created a pad for Ning Yingying as he likely had to do this a lot for his sister before he transmigrated and isn't even bothered by it. He even obliges in making it cuter for his disciple. When Luo Binghe seems a bit envious at the attention Ning Yingying is getting, Shen Qingqiu pats him on the head and lightly teases him, causing Luo Binghe to turn away and clear his throat.
