"I see you, Nimona."

  • Goldenloin comforting Ballister before the knighting ceremony.
  • While it's tragically short lived, when the Queen dubs him Sir Ballister Boldheart, the crowd starts to cheer his name and applaud. Just for a moment you can see Ballister starting to feel accepted.
  • Ballister waking up in the lair with a headache and finding out that Nimona not only brought him back safely (minus the possible concussion), but made him a hot drink and breakfast tacos.
  • Ballister being concerned for Nimona after seeing an arrow in her leg. Even though Nimona isn't concerned about it, Ballister keeps insisting on treating it and trying to make her better. It's only when he takes it out that he realizes it really doesn't hurt Nimona at all. Afterwards marks the first time Ballister broaches the topic of her shapeshifting with sensitivity, asking how she feels when she does it, apologizes if it's another small-minded question like his previous insensitive ones, and Nimona gives him an honest answer that it makes her feel free.
    • After spending many years of getting used to physical abuse from other people, Nimona seems to be at loss when Ballister treats her wound instead. And even though she doesn’t need it due to her powers, she clearly appreciates the gesture.
  • Nimona and Ballister partying together while their video of the Director confessing to the Queen’s murder goes viral.
    • Especially sweet when you realize that, the last time she turned into a shark in front of him, he seemed uncomfortable and asked if she could return to a human form. This time, he asks if she wants to change and is fully on board when she does.
    Ballister: Can a shark dance?
Nimona: 'Can a shark dance?' (Beat) Watch me.
  • When playing Monopoly, Nimona breathes fire and torches the game after a dispute. Ballister expresses surprise she can do that, and she starts to retreat and apologize for not telling him, but he just parrots her to say "Metal" and goes with it. She pauses for a moment, with it being obvious she's touched and delighted to have been accepted for throwing a curveball and fully being her shifting, chaotic self for the first time (in what's revealed to have been millennia).
  • Ballister comforts Nimona when she starts to shapeshift in her sleep because she’s having nightmares, assuring her that she’s in a safe place. Even though what comes next is not pleasant to watch, once she wakes up, she admits that she hasn’t such a good sleep in ages.
  • Ballister still remembers the bar he and Ambrosius used to go to, and remembers that Ambrosius is allergic to olives.
  • In a blink and you'll miss it moment during the climax, when Ambrosius arrives to evacuate the civilians, you can still see protesters demonstrating outside the Institute. Even after the Director was able to largely deflect blame towards Nimona, some of the people still chose to believe in Ballister.
  • Ballister talking Nimona down to stop her rampage and suicide, then giving her a Cooldown Hug. The entire incident is being broadcast live to the entire kingdom, leaving its people speechless and possibly remorseful for their fear of a defenseless being. Even Goldenloin begins to question if everything the kingdom believed was true.
Ballister: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I see you... and you're not alone.
    • What makes this scene more significant is that he stops her from committing suicide by placing his hand on her heart. Which hand is he using? His artificial one.
    • Before Ballister speaks, he drops his sword, fully letting go of his prejudice towards her.
    • During this confrontation, it's the first time we hear Ballister speak Nimona's name, signifying his now-complete support and acceptance of her.
  • Todd visiting Nimona's memorial at the end, showing he's moved past his hatred.
  • Ballister and Ambrosius sharing a kiss during the ending.
  • Ballister going back to their old hideout to hang a child's drawing of Nimona on their board, and learning that Nimona survived after all.
  • The end credits, which include those who worked on the film back when it was still with Blue Sky Studios. Their names are accompanied by drawings of a squirrel and several acorns, a clear nod to Scrat.
