Episode 4: Men and Women | Mokuren's Medical Jutsu
  • Instead of punishing her in any way, Hana makes the decision to let Tsubaki in on the truth of the Akane and Aoi classes. Though Konoha later expresses her doubts as to whether that was the right decision, Hana is confident that it will be okay because she trusts her and her abilities as a kunoichi, showing just how much faith she has in the young kunoichi.
    • The manga gives Hana an extra line, saying that the fact that it's Tsubaki they're talking to rather than any other student is enough to reassure her that this is the right decision.
  • In return for maintaining her silence, Hana grants Tsubaki's request to get the "no-dinner" punishment from the game of tag revoked for the class. Asagao in particular is overwhelmed with joy and glomps her.
  • Mokuren allows herself to be a listening ear for Tsubaki when she sees her pondering her thoughts. Though Tsubaki can't tell her anything, the fact that Mokuren does this anyways as a friend is really touching.
    • Despite being completely drained after being asked for multiple favors by their classmates, Mokuren still decides to hear Tsubaki out, showing how good of a person she really is.
  • Tsubaki reassures Mokuren that the class doesn't rely on her because of her Extreme Doormat tendencies, but because they know she's a reliable person.

Episode 5: A Fight Over Some Fruit | Independence and Indulgence

  • Rindou expresses her enjoyment of being able to have fun with Tsubaki and her new teammates at the bath, as her previous arrangements didn't really give her such luxury.
  • Tsubaki and Asagao help alleviate Rindou's fear that Sazanka hates her by revealing that she's also shy, and reassuring her that she'll come around.
  • Despite just having removed her mask for the fun of it, Sazanka is grateful that Rindou helped heal her by summoning Mokuren after passing out in the bath and thanks her for it - albeit while still acting shy.

    Episode 7: Rindou's Resolve | Late-Night Summons
  • Still troubled by that morning's incident, Rindou laments that her inability to remove her mask is what got Sazanka in trouble with Tsubaki. However, Tsubaki reassures her that the latter is kind in reality, but awkward with her feelings. Later, when going on about how to go about removing said mask, Tsubaki advises she go about it in a way she's comfortable, rather than force it.
  • Sazanka double-crossing Hinagiku in her plan to unmask Rindou. As Tsubaki explains, there was no way in hell she'd be actually on board with messing with her teammate like the latter was planning, showing that in spite of how she's behaved around her, Sazanka truly does like Rindou.
  • While on the way to Hana's place, Tsubaki and Rindou are worried they may be scolded for something, but as it turns out, the former is simply checking up on Rindou and making sure she's acclimating well to her new environment.

    Episode 8: The Strongest Team | Nee-sama
  • Seeing how friendly Dokudami is to her fellow classmates. When passing out portions of boar meat, she gives a little extra to Team Tiger because they're the tiniest team.

  • How Tsubaki and Sazanka's sisterly relationship came to be is nothing short of heartwarming. Despite the fact that Sazanka's troublemaking antics earned her ostracization from the entire class, Tsubaki is the only one who doesn't treat her with such, but with kindness and understanding.
    • When she notices Sazanka has a twisted ankle, Tsubaki gives her a piggy-back ride to the mountain summit despite having one herself from a previous fall.
      • Sazanka later notices that Tsubaki also has a bad ankle, furthering Tsubaki's kindness.
    • Despite saying she hates her and everyone else, Tsubaki helps Sazanka figure out why she feels this way. Realizing it's because she feels everyone hates her plus her own inability to get along with others, Tsubaki advises her to be brave about it, ending with saying she likes her.
    • With a change of heart, Sazanka asks Hana to put her in a squad with Tsubaki, with Tsubaki asking the same.
    • After Team Dog is formed, Tsubaki reveals to Sazanka that both their names come from flowers belonging to the Camellia family note . Realizing this means that the flowers are sisters, Sazanka starts to address Tsubaki as such, too.

Episode 9: Of Snakes and Men | What Defines Results

When she hears them, Sumire (while invisible) actually looks touched.

Episode 10: A Team Leader's Troubles | Favors and Debts
  • After her plan to follow Tsubaki's example and improve her own leadership ended in failure, Tachiaoi breaks down in tears, but Higuruma and Hagi reassure her that she's still their leader through and through, helping the former realize she shouldn't mimic someone else's style, but follow her own.
  • Benisumomo gets a few heartwarming moments here this episode, showing that underneath her tough exterior, she's truly a kind girl:
    • Knowing Asagao and Sazanka would be hellbent to find the herbs needed for Tsubaki's medicine, Benisumomo chooses to go along with them as an escort.
    • When the three of them get to the cave to find the herbs, Benisumomo checks for an air current so it would be okay for Sazanka to enter.
    • Seeing how hard the two of them worked, Benisumomo gives Asagao and Sazanka her praise, admiring their determination and proving her initial thought of them being just kids wrong.
    • In the post-credits scene, Benisumomo helps Mokuren get more medicinal herbs after her teammates ran off.

Episode 12: Rivals | Picture of a Man
  • While merely depicted as a Satellite Character to Hinagiku, Kibushi showed in this episode she's not just a side piece to her, but a genuine friend. She went above and beyond to help cheer up Hinagiku, even going to Benisumomo for assistance, and was there to comfort her when she was at her lowest.
  • Benisumomo's kinder side makes a return once more. Though she views Hinagiku with disdain, as well as wanting to tease her a bit, she did genuinely want to cheer her up and admitted to herself that she crossed a line with her taunting.

Episode 13: Showdown! Akane Class vs. The Man!
