    Saejima and Yasuko
  • So, Saejima's first priority after breaking out of jail is to find out what became of the Sasai Family rather than trying to track down his own sister. What the fuck is up with that?
    • Because Saejima wasn't planning on staying escaped. He wanted the truth about a criminal conspiracy, so went to his criminal ties as a starting point. Once he found out the truth, he might have paid a visit to his sister before turning himself back in.

    Kiryu's gullibility
  • Why did Kiryu fall for Katsuragi's bullshit about a trade so easily?
    • Aside from the fact that this game suffers from Cutscene Incompetence a bit too much, it's not so much that Kiryu believed the trade would be honored, but that it was the only way to save Taiga and Yasuho. It also helps that they got Date to make copies of the ledger for his article about corruption in the police that he could spare giving up the original.

    Letting Suguichi leave
  • In the police standoff with Suguichi, the former act like not being able to use guns completely prevents them from attacking Suguichi. But Japanese cops in real life have batons and martial arts training precisely so they won't be helpless against violent criminals. Yeah, maybe Suguichi could have shot one of them before being tackled, but 1) then were a lot of guys surrounding him, closely, on all sides, 2) shots are often not fatal in situations where first aid and modern transportation are available, and 3) endangering themselves to catch criminals is kind of the police's job. Even by Yakuza standards, it's unlikely Suguichi could have done much to a bunch of men dogpiling him.
    • Not to mention they literally just saw him murder a man. So what, they're just going to let this murderer go, even without considering the 25 years of corruption under his belt?
