  • Why do Yayoi and Daigo Dojima have so much status with the Tojo Clan? Yakuza 0 shows us that while Sohei Dojima used to be a big deal, he's been an irrelevant has-been for 10 years by the time of his death. Why, another decade after THAT, is his wife important enough to serve as interim Chairwoman and his son a big enough deal for Kiryu to try and push to become the new official Chairman of the Tojo Clan?
    • Likely due to the complete disarray of the clan following the events of the prior game - Sera, Nishiki, Shimano and Kazama are all dead and Yayoi (with Kashiwagi's help) appears to be the only one providing any kind of organisation; Kiryu also vouches for both Yayoi and Daigo, and his word as Fourth Chairman lends a lot of weight. We also see that the more antagonistic elements - like Nishiki's family - actively do contest what's going on and they have a lot of pull due to taking in Shimano's lot.
    • This may also be based in part on actual events. The third chairman of the real-world Yamaguchi-Gumi was Kazuo Taoka, who added a lot of necessary structure and organization to the group. He died in 1981, but his chosen successor unexpectedly died in prison. This real life succession crisis required Taoka's wife Fumiko to assume control of the giant clan, on the basis that she was trusted only to play a temporary caretaker role. It took three years for them to reach a consensus and pick an actual chairman in 1984.
  • Why was Date wanted for murder? The footage clearly shows an absence of muzzle flash from his gun and even if he was the one who shot the assassin, it would've been in self-defense.
    • Kurahashi, the guy running the investigation, is The Mole; it's probably a way to eliminate Date or at least throw a wrench in the investigation before it comes back to him.
