Headscratchers / Thieves Can Be Heroes!

  • When Izuku wants to explain to Makoto about the Metaverse you'd expect he would take her to a private location during lunch, take her to Kamoshida's Palace and get it over with as a quickly as possible. Instead, he makes Makoto wait for an entire month for an answer and only decides to tell her AFTER they defeat Kamoshida and destroy the palace. So when the time came for an explanation Izuku has no proof and he's only saved by Morgana dragging them into the Metaverse. Great thinking Izuku -_-
    • The fact is, he wanted to ensure he stopped Kamoshida first. If he showed Makoto what the Metaverse was like before the deed was done, she might have interfered and kept them from saving the day. It might have been selfish, but better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.
  • Instead of delivering Iwai's gun, showing responsibility to gain his trust. He decides to go back to Leblanc and only gains Iwai's trust the next day after helping Kaoru from bullies ex machina.
    • In Persona 5, the protagonist couldn't question about the gun and start the Confidant until their courage was at a certain point. Izuku's courage started at like negative one, so it makes sense that he'd take longer on it.
  • This one is the most egregious, in front of an entire room of people Inko fucking says "How is Futaba doing?" to Sojiro and after Sojiro told her to shut it, somehow nobody hears Inko saying Sojiro has a daughter and nobody questions why Sojiro would want Inko to shut up.
    • If that's how it originally went then this conversation had been edited at some point, as it goes differently now.
  • Despite the story still taking place in the BNHA world, somehow Kamoshida and Madarame still exist despite BNHA lore contradicting their backstory. The Olympics were abolished and are a relic of the past yet Kamoshida still has a gold medal. Madarame is still a famous painter who painted all of the same paintings and is still popular despite it being a point that Heroes are the front center of society.
    • The Olympics were never said to have been abolished. Just that the U.A. Sports Festival is more popular than the Olympics. That they still exist while prohibiting the use of Quirks makes sense. And just because Heroes are the popular thing, doesn't mean that everything that was popular got swept under the rug. There still have to be famous artists for villains to try and steal paintings, after all. That's just comic book logic.
  • The author's comments regarding why Arsene can't be Izuku's Persona is dumb. He states that it "Wouldn't fit Izuku's personality" despite the fact Personas are NOT supposed to be a 100% representation of the user. They're only a small piece of the puzzle and being forced to have a Thief Persona would fit Izuku especially since he's the protagonist of Persona 5 and leader of the PHANTOM THIEVES. The author is a Jojo fan so he probably has the mentality of Persona are just Stands
    • I agree that a Persona isn't a perfect reflection of who you are, but I wouldn't call them a "small piece" either. In Persona 5, the Personas are specifically reflections of their own rebellious spirits, which are born from their own values. Izuku's values and desires were different from Ren's, so his spirit of rebellion would be different. Ergo, a different Persona.
