  • In the season 5 episode "One of Those Days", Station 51 is called to the scene of a car wreck. Two cars, one on top of the other, near the end of a dead-end street, a blood trail leads towards the dead-end & ends abruptly, and there's no other sign of the drivers or injured people. The episode simply leaves it hanging there & doesn't try to solve it; Johnny & Roy simply shrug and walk away, which seems awfully unprofessional of them. What happened to the drivers??
    • Paramedics and firefighters aren't police: their job isn't solving mysteries of that type. Aside from that, there's a reasonable assumption that they then got into a third car and were driven away.

  • What happened to Boot? Season Six opens with the Bassett hound Henry as the station dog, but no mention is ever made of what happened to Boot, the original dog.
    • When Johnny and Roy had to get John Travolta out of the canyon, they had to call for an engine with a crane. After the crane folded up, Boot got on the engine and rode off with it. Johnny and Roy called out, "Hey, you've got our dog", but no one heard them, and at least Johnny wouldn't get his bed torn up any more by Boot.

  • The end of “Insomnia”. A half-asleep Johnny climbs on the back of the engine and is clinging to it as it pulls away. Roy yells that it’s not a squad call, watches the engine leave, then turns off the light and appears to go back to bed. Why the heck didn’t he call dispatch to relay a message to the engine? Johnny could have fallen off during a sharp turn and been badly injured or killed if another vehicle hit him. He’d need to take the squad out of service til Johnny got back anyway. That made zero sense.
    • Given the episode ended right then, what's to say he didn't do that?
