• In the film there's Chris's Crosses the Line Twice speech about finding a car full of people shot to pieces, including a baby, being met with the dumbfounded stares of the other teens.
• At one point, Ellie goes out to talk to Homer, who's up in a tree on sentry duty. Unfortunately, she handed him a tractor magazine, and she finds it very hard to tear his attention away from it. He keeps talking about this or that tractor, and what he could do with them.
• While speculating on what became of their various classmates, Fi and Ellie discuss a particularly air-headed girl named Courtney. Ellie recalls Homer saying it took Courtney an hour and a half to watch an episode of Sixty Minutes. Fi remembers Courtney explaining that she had a date ruined by her mother getting the times wrong by saying 'My mum blew my date'.
