The Girl I Want is So Handsome!, being a lighthearted romance story, naturally has many funny moments.
- When Hina tells her friends about meeting Shiki, her friends, after initially doubting the veracity of her story, encourage her to join the team, before remembering she has no athletic skill.
- Hina's Oh, Crap! reaction at the end of First Step when she realizes that Rei, who's been hostile to her almost constantly, will be her mentor as manager.
- At the end of Second Step, Shiki and Hina walk in on Rei and Hanna making out. Hanna is nonchalant, which only makes Rei even more angry that people found out.
- In Seventh Step, Rei has a bit too much fun hearing about Hina's struggles with school, calling her "a real dummy" complete with Harsh Word Impact. She breaks down laughing upon hearing that Home Ec is Hina's best subject, and is about to say that there's no midterm when Shiki gives her a Dope Slap.
- In Eighth Step, Shiki, after inviting Hina to "come closer," offers to "start with something easy," and show the "shy" Hina "how it's done," before deciding to "get everything ready." Hina assumes they're going to have sex, but then Shiki gets out a Math I textbook.
- At the start of Ninth Step, Rei, who came over to Shiki's apartment after a fight with Hanna, notices that Hina's hair is down and that she's wearing Shiki's clothing, as well as that Shiki's hair is a mess and she's blushing. She tries to leave lest she interrupt anything, but Shiki says that would only make things more awkward.
- Near the end, Shiki is surprised to hear that Hina loves her. Hina's sure that she told Shiki before, but then recalls each of her most important moments with Shiki and realizes that no, she did not tell her.
- An illustration shows the basketball team at the culture festival. Rei is reluctantly dressed up as a cheerleader, apparently because her teacher made her, and insists that Rei not take any photos. Hanna is a ghost, terrifying Hina and causing her to hide behind Shiki. Meanwhile, Hina and Waka are maids, Nonon is a mascot and Shiki is in a boys' uniform.
- Hina asks Rei to take a picture of Shiki in class, and Rei initially refuses. However, after Rei sees Shiki smile as she sees Hina go by, she takes a picture of her and sends it to Hina.
