For a gloomy film, Night Hunter/Nomis has a surprising number of darkly-humorous moments.
- Faye telling her dad that the pictures she posts online is "Nothing compared to the naked selfies that Kim and Kylie post."
- Quinn commenting on Marshall: "He seems nice."
- Cooper's matter-of-fact tone as he explains to a pedophile what he had done to him while he was knocked out.Cooper: I also had your balls removed, not that you had any in the first place.
- Lara complains to Cooper that one of her online photos makes her look "rough."
- Quinn and Glasow giving the same explanation to Marshall: That Rachel took his daughter's file for a personal touch.
- Marshall's incredulity over seeing that Glasow brings his baby daughter to work (when his girlfriend/wife can't do so), ending with him grumbling "Fuck it" and walking out.
- Lara advising a buxom waitress to stand straighter and show off her breasts.
- When Harper is asked what to tell the press outside:Harper: You got a pen?
Quinn: Yeah.
Harper: No comment. - After Marshall interrupts Lara trying to rope in another pedophile who panics and says he wants to leave, he drops a pair of handcuffs onto the table and has this to say:Marshall: Put those on or I will let them castrate you.
- The pedophile looks to see a police officer standing outside and glances back at Lara who gives him an amused smile. Then he takes the handcuffs, gets up, and walks away.
- This is capped off by Marshall shaking his head disapprovingly at Lara who just keeps smiling.
- Lara's greeting to Rachel and Glasow when they arrive at her and Cooper's house:Lara: [brightly] What are you cunts doing here?
- Moments later, she informs them that the evidence they're finding on Cooper's computer is inadmissible in court, causing Rachel to curse.Lara: Yeah. Fuck-tards.

- Marshall's response to Cooper's observation about the ineffectiveness of the legal system:Marshall: Doesn't really give you the right to run around hacking people's nuts off, though, does it?
- Marshall's exasperated question to the man who sold explosives to Simon:Marshall: Don't you have a fucking newspaper?
- After Rachel is nearly choked to death by Simon, a cop asks her if she wants to go get some ribs.
- Marshall and Rachel head to the psychiatric records center to find info about Simon's mother. Marshall grumbles "Waste of fucking time" and starts to call for some officers to come down because "There is a corridor filled with crap down here", only for Rachel to find what they're looking for. Then he tells the other end to "Okay, hold on that" and hangs up.
- Marshall calls Cooper and asks meet him down at the station...only for then see that Cooper is already in his office with Harper.Marshall: Make yourselves comfortable.
- Rachel's minor Cluster F-Bomb rant over the phone, capped by Harper's reply.
- Marshall's reaction on seeing that Faye wants to go ice skating in the ending scene.Marshall: Yeah, no, we're not doing that.
Faye: You said anything I wanted.
