  • The interrogation that follows on Four's capture is entirely based on Exact Words, Loophole Abuse and him being a Cassandra Bystander.
Detective: You were yelling the number six in your sleep. You want to tell me what that's all about?
    Four: It's my golf handicap.
Detective: Yeah, right. How about you and me have a little chat? Let's start with the birth certificate you gave to Paradise High. It's counterfeit, John Smith. In fact, we can't find a single thing about you prior to you showing up in Paradise several months ago. Your social security number belongs to a dead man in Florida.
Four: Was there a question there?
Detective: Why don't you start by telling me your real name.
    Four: John Smith.
Detective: Right. Where's your father, John?
    Four: Dead.
    Detective: How convenient.
Four: Actually, it's the probably the most inconvenient that's ever happened to me up until now.
Detective: Where are you originally from?
Four: The planet Lorien, three hundred million miles away.
Detective: Must have been a long trip, John Smith.
Four: Took almost a year. Next time I'm bringing a book.
Detective: holds up the tablet You want to tell me what this thing is?
Four: I was hoping you could tell me. We found it in the woods.
Detective: You found this in the woods? Where at in the woods?
    Four: Near a tree.
Four: That depends, detective. Are you working for them?
Detective: Am I working for who?
Four: The Morlocks. You can smile, but they'll probably be here soon.
    Detective: The Morlocks?
    Four: Yes, sir.
Detective: Like from The Time Machine?
Four: That's the one. That's like our Bible.
Detective: And let me guess; you and your friend, Samuel Goode, you're member of the Eloi?
Four: The Loric, actually. But for our purposes today, the Eloi will be fine.
Detective: slams dagger on the table What's this for, John? Why would you need a knife like this?
Four: I don't know what knifes like that are for, sir. Whittling?
Detective: Why don't you tell me what happened in Tennessee.
Four: Never been. I hear it's a nice place, though. Maybe I'll visit when I'm out of here, take a tour, see the sights. Any suggestions?
  • Apparently, the Loric language bears a slight similarity to French. This leads to a women speaking to Henri in French after she heard his accent, and Henri has to admit he doesn't actually speak French. The woman leaves, dejected and muttering that she thought that finally, some sophistication had slipped into town.
