Fridge Brilliance
- It might seem strange that when Hakune attacks Gray and Natsu in Chapter 71, Natsu is absolutely crawling with girls. While it may look like he’s actually a closet Chivalrous Pervert or something similar, it makes sense if you look at Hakune's powers. She seems to have drawn people of the opposite sex from the men’s hearts, hence why Juvia appeared for Gray and why all the women clones reference personal details about their relationship with their respective man. However, Hakune only portrayed them sexually because she assumed that’s how the men see their women. But Natsu loves people like Erza, Wendy, and the Strauss siblings in a familial way, and Hakune shallowly misinterpreted it as romantic or sexual love. In other words, Hakune read the women Natsu loved in his heart, but failed to see that his love wasn’t romantic/sexual in nature.
Fridge Horror
- In Chapter 73, we see Lucy transformed into a yokai, namely a nure-onna
, and we're exposed to the possibility of Lucy being painfully transformed from a human into a yokai, while slowly having her humanity stripped away. On top of that, Chapter 74 reveals how much her personality has changed, as she's become cruel and sadistic in nature, looking at Natsu the way a predator might look at its prey.
