Acnologia had a good reason why he never mentioned the Five God Dragons.
It's too soon to say what in-story purpose Acnologia had in not mentioning five potential equals, especially since it seems to go against his pre-established character. But if I had to venture a few guesses, it's probably because...
- He honestly didn't know about them. Other immortals such as Zeref and Irene didn't seem to know them, either. We don't even know where they are now, where they've been, or how much of an actual threat they pose to humanity despite their strength.
- Confirmed. Chapter 3 revealed the God Dragons spent much of their lives in hiding, including the time of the Dragon King Festival, and thus hardly anyone—even Acnologia—knew they actually existed.
- He was so confident in his own power that he didn't think such dragons actually existed. God Serena laughing off August's statement that he was "blessed by the dragon gods" lends water to the fact that they may be regarded as myth.
- Same as above.
- He did know about them, and maybe even thought they were too strong for him, but he didn't want to admit it, and thus turned to a life of destroying everything and slaughtering creatures weaker than himself.
- He saw them too far above dragons to consider them as such, and he was going to gun after them once he killed all the other "regular" dragons. He maybe even thought he'd be able to beat them once he was powered up by the Space Between Time.
The one who invented the Dragon Slayer Magic Lacrimas was one of the Five God Dragons.
All in order to hopefully create a Worthy Rival for them. Ankhseram will appear.
Better late than never. It would be a waste if he never shows up. The mage that originally cursed Kinana will be an Arc Villain.
Snakes are just a step away from full-fledged dragons in Eastern myths. Kinana was just a prototype, hence why she was discarded to the Tower of Heaven. The former worshipers of Zeref now worship Ankhseram directly.
With the fall of Emperor Spriggan, many of his secrets (the nature of Zeref's condition being confirmed to be known to them) were most likely leaked, at least in the form of rumors. Now the former cult of Zeref directs their 'prayers' to the real source of the legendary power. Briar from Avatar is probably to return as one of them. All of God Serena's powers will be revealed.
We learn that there are five dragons out there who are essentially the ones who gave God Serena his Hybrid Theory abilities, which means there's a good chance that we will see the full extent of the eight abilities he never got to demonstrate, if not more.- I thought that, given the fact that 1) Mashima is fond of recycling elements from his previous work and 2) Serena has eight elements, the ones appearing based on Fire, Sea, Earth, Wind and possibly Lightning, his eigth Dragon Slayers were themed after the elements of Rave Master (Fire, Water/Ice, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Sea, Light and Darkness).
- With his reappearance in Chapter 114 this might come true after all.

Touka is in some way connected to the five dragon gods if not one herself
Touka wouldn't be introduced out of nowhere if she won't play a important role in the series. Given the nature of the 100 year quest she won't meet Natsu and the others until the quest is over and in which case the series will be concluding. So she is likely connected to the gods and necessary to complete the quest.- As she mentioned she uses Water Magic, a possibility is that she was a student of Mercuphobia, the Water Dragon God, and that her magic is actually Water Dragon Slayer Magic. As for suddenly sprouting a tail, she may not necessarily be a human student.
- Not a student, but she did steal Mercuphobia's powers.
Arlios and Mio Will Appear
They will either be confirmed to be reincarnations of Mavis and Zeref, or amnesiac, but still free of their Curses at long last. Hargeon will be the last place visited in this manga.
If the series was to reach it's end, then it will probably appear in a possibly Book Ends sort of way. Brandish will return as an ally for Fairy Tail
Now that the Alvarez Empire has been defeated, maybe Brandish will return to help Natsu and his friends in some capacity. She may even team up with Lucy for once on their missions.- All but confirmed.
Ankhseram will be the Big Bad and True Final Boss of the entire series.
As a literal deity and the one responsible for cursing Zeref and Mavis, it seems odd for him to never put in a personal appearance, and given his actions, he seems actively malevolent, although this is purely speculation and he could still be currently considered Ambiguously Evil. The Fifth Generation Dragon Slayers could actually be Take-Over: Dragon Soul wizards.
If this type of Take-Over magic works on the same mechanic as Satan Soul and God Soul there has to be something like Demon Particles in Mirajanes blood or being a descendant of the Milidian people the 5th generation dragon slayers have to eat dragon flesh to access the powers of their respective dragons but not actually turning part-dragon like other dragonslayers. This could explain why they don't get motion-sick since there is no dragon/human imbalance to get them motion sick. They could also do a full Take-Over and become a dragon. Wendy will gain a dual element mode
She'll end up eating one of the 5th generations magic in order to combat them, finally giving her the dual element mode she missed out on in the original series. Lucy will be central to defeating Selene
Due to symbolism, with Selene being the dragon of a celestial body, Lucy will play far more importance in the defeat of Selene then Natsu will. More Edolas´s counterparts will appear
The counterparts of the other dragons could appear. Ignia could definitely have a conflict when facing a human counterpart of his father.- A possibility that the group will meet the Edolas counterparts now that they have been transported to Edolas.
- Confirmed in the case of Irene, who used enchantment and Selene's Aqua Aera to rebirth herself as Mystogan and Erza Knightwalker's baby, a brand new Irene.
Viernes will have a connection with Metalicana
They won't necessarily be familiar like Ignia and Igneel. They could have been rivals or the Iron Dragon was a mentor to him. Viernes longed for a opportunity to defeat Acnologia to avenge Metalicana. He will only agree to fight Gajeel, wanting to make sure that he is worthy of calling himself the Metalicana's son. Selene is the real White Mage
As the White Mage that we've been introduced to is not actually the White Mage, it's entirely possible that the true White Mage is the Moon God Dragon Selene.- Jossed. The true White Mage is a living doll created through alchemy, Athena.
A member of Fairy Tail will be originally from Elentir
That member was sent to Earth Land at a very young age and can´t remember it. Levy will be kidnapped by Diabolos
Some member of Diabolos will perceive the scent of Gajeel in her and will intuit that Levy is very important to him.- Alternatively, they might figure out that Levy is pregnant due to her scent, and they'll have a guess that the baby could be a Dragon Slayer like the father.
- Jossed now that Diabolos and Fairy Tail have buried the hatchet and become allies. However, Sai of Gold Owl used the bond of Gajeel's romantic relationship with Levy against him, and God Serena taunted Gajeel with the idea of never seeing her again.
The other members of Diabolos' Black Dragon Slayer Knights
As one of their members is named Suzaku & is monikered as the Red Dragon similar to Suzaku the Vermilion Bird, the others may follow the same naming structure.- Genbu the Black Dragon in reference to Genbu the Black Tortoise.

- Seiryu the Blue Dragon in reference to Seiryu the Azure Dragon.
- Jossed. They have unique names: Kirin (Yellow), Haku (White), and Misaki (Blue); "Black Dragon Knight" refers to a shared rank among them and Suzaku, not an actual Dragon Slayer. However, Haku's costume resembles a white tiger, so there is some overlap.

We will know more about the origin of the folktale of Mt. Zonia through Irene, who will reveal that she witnessed the battle between those two angels.- These "angels" will turn out to be the original Black Wizard and White Wizard. And due to the distortion of tales over the centuries, people assumed that Zeref was the true Black Wizard.
Viernes' true power
Viernes's magic will not just include power over gold but the ability to devour anything colored gold much like Sting's magic. Ignia will do something to Lucy to get at Natsu
When the time comes to take him on, Ignia will do something to Lucy as a deliberate way of provoking Natsu, either by harassing her, or kidnapping her. Ignia and/or Selene will destroy the Labyrinth and vaporize at least one Diabolos member simply as an unintentional yet not unwelcome side effect of their power.
Kiria in particular is in trouble, because it doesn't look like she's going to be waking up any time soon and now that Ignia and Selene are about to clash, the Labyrinth is like a time bomb waiting to go off...- Edit: Misaki's down for the count too.
Selene will get offed by Ignia
The climactic battle of the Big Bad Ensemble has finally begun and Ignia has already screwed Selene over once by destroying the heart, plus Ignia has stated that he wants to be the Final Boss for Natsu, which means he most likely isn't gonna let Selene make it out alive.- Very narrowly avoided. When dragons injure each other with their magic, they inflict wounds that cannot heal. Ignia mortally wounded Selene, but Irene Belserion removed the cursed nature of these injuries, curing the dragon, and applied it to herself so she could erase her tortured existence as a Dragon Slayer and use Selene's help to transfer her mindwiped essence into a new vessel in a world with no magic, starting life over as a baby.
Viernes is the power behind Gold Owl
One of the key aspects of alchemy is turning lead into gold, as such, there is no more fitting place for the Gold Dragon God to make their base of power than as the head of an Alchemist Guild.- CONFERMED but not in the way I exspexted.
The twin children of Gajeel and Levy will be canon
The twins will use some magic item to travel back in time to save the members of Fairy Tail.- The Memory Days Book would be a good option.
Yukino will achieve the Star Dress ability like Lucy, or a similar variation thereof
Yukino currently owns Pisces, Libra, and Ophiucus of the Zodiac Keys, and might be able to call upon their abilities to strengthen herself in battle.- Yup she did.
There will be a 7th Dragon God
His/her name is Apollo/Amaterasu and will be the Sun Dragon and the series Final Boss. His/Her goal is to devour sun in order to bring eternal darkness to the world so the population will beg him/her create a new sun in exchange to be worship as a supreme dragon god.- This is possible, as each of the Dragon Gods corresponds to a day of the week, save for Sunday, whose possible name interpretations include "Sun's day". It would also be a Foil to Selene, the Moon Dragon God.
Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest will end with 232 chapters
Adding to OG Fairy Tail's 545 chapters will bring a total of 777 chapters, 7 being the series Numerological Motif. Kotetsu is actually Gajeel in disguise
Makarov sent him to investigate Gold Owl upon learning that the Alchemist Guild was offering a bounty for capturing Fairy Tail Mages.- Gajeel's suit inhibits his scent, so none of his fellow Dragon Slayers will recognize him.

- In Chapter 143, when Rouge and Frosch arrive at Gold Owl's guild, they find a doll on the ground. What if this is the real Kotetsu, who Gajeel stole his clothes from? As for apparently no one noticing the difference between Kotetsu and Gajeel... what if Viernes is allowing it because of unfinished business with Metalicana's son?
