Fridge Brilliance

• Todd spends the first half of the film as a Shrinking Violet who is afraid to speak up in class. I'm no psychiatrist and I don't pretend to be one, but presumably the reason for this is because of how his parents treat him as The Un-Favourite and favor his older brother because he was valedictorian. All of that obviously gave Todd the inferiority complex that motivates his extreme shyness.
