Go To

The Anaxverse is a fictional universe created and owned by American author, Brandon Somerville. It contains the span of several books and games and takes place on a version of Earth full of superheroes, supernatural villains and people with strange abilities.

The author is a real-world paranormal investigator and ghost hunter and has spent decades studying, religions, folklore, mythology, the occult, and philosophy, and built the Anaxverse by applying real-world places and things with magical or dark twists, incorporating what he learned from studies and experiences.

The world and projects are not truly pornographic or erotica, but closer aligned to something like the Game of Thrones. Thus while the tales contain sexual elements, the focus is on world-building and character development.

The works are divided on two categories. A series of interactive novels with multiple endings, and non-canonical games.

Tropes common to the Anaxverse novels and games:

  • Arc Villain: Each of the novels focuses on one of the many evil factions that are active on the setting, and their efforts to conquer the world.
  • Art-Shifted Sequel:The first novels created for the setting used picture manipulations of photos of real people, before the author began switching to something less limited for the series. The most recent works are made from pictures using computer graphics.
  • Balance Between Good and Evil: The setting is formed from the dimensional frecuencies of the Inner Light and the Outer Darkness. The physical world is the place in which these two forces interact and expand their influence.
  • Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: To distinguish each of the main evil factions from one another, they all have their own unique colour when represented in the novels and games.
  • Crapsack World: A version of our world full of monsters and aliens bent on conquering mankind.
  • Evil Versus Evil: Most of the factions in the setting fight one another to expand their influence and followers from the masses of innocent civilians and other living beings.
  • Multiple Endings: Most of the novels have more than one ending, although from them only one is canonical to the setting. The rest are Bad Ends to show what happens if the protagonist fails.
  • Multi-Volume Work: The main narrative of the setting is told in a series of novels with multiple protagonist, that introduces or expands on one of the main factions that exist.
  • Porn with Plot: The setting is a series of interactive novels and games that even though they have various depictions of adult content, they still tell a story with characters and storylines, have various references to myths and folklore, and a great amount of worldbuilding.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Even if the heroes win at the end of the novels, the villains end up obtaining something in return or have corrupted to their side most of the protagonists' friends and family.
