The Real Big Omelet Job
is a completed Leverage/Dragonriders of Pern crossover by thetrickisnotminding.
The Leverage crew have just completed another heist, and decide to take a look at their loot; five giant, oddly-colored eggs, packed in sand. Then a hatchling emerges from one of the eggs, looks into Parker's eyes, and things get weird.
Now the crew must struggle with raising an entirely new species, protecting the dragons from those who would abuse them, and the carnivore instincts newly injected into their minds.
This fic contains the following tropes:
- Friends with Benefits: The riders whose dragons mate don't fall in love with each other (it's not
that kind of fic), but they remain trusted coworkers and don't hate the experience. - Post-Modern Magik: A lot of it, from dragon nests made out of coupons and dollar bills to flight training with a boombox blasting motivational music.
- Power Incontinence: The first instance of teleportation happens by accident, when Eliot is reminiscing with his dragon about a private island. Sophie initially thinks they've spontaneously combusted.
