Fanfic / Oh No, We threw the baby out the window

Go To

Oh No, We threw the baby out the window is a Danny Phantom and Batman crossover in which Ember and Youngblood, during a playful fight with Danny, accidentally send him through a natural portal. So now Danny has to navigate his way through Gotham and try and avoid bugging Batman too much (all while Bruce's adoption senses sing), while Ember and Youngblood try and find the young and unaware Ghost King before the Fright Knight realizes what they did to a baby ghost, and Team Phantom scramble to find their friend.

  • Achievements in Ignorance:
    • Danny manages to stumble onto the Batcave simply by seeing Wayne Manor and deciding to take a look around and see if he could find an unused room to sleep in for the night.
    • He stops Kite Man's latest heist without even being aware that Kite Man is a criminal, believing him to just be someone with a dangerous habit.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: When looking at a sample of Danny’s ectoplasmic blood, Batman is baffled by how some of the blood cells have eyes.
  • Contrived Coincidence: Danny gets hit by Youngblood and Ember through a natural portal next to the Fenton portal right before it closes, causing him to land in Gotham, a few days in the past, thanks to Clockwork.
  • Did I Just Say That Out Loud?: When at the Gala for the new Gotham observatory telescopes, Danny mentally gushes about it, and only realizes that he’s talking out loud when he becomes aware of the crowd around him.
  • Foreshadowing: During their group chat after Danny stops Condiment King, Stephanie hopes that he'll go after Kite Man next. In fact, Danny does run into Kite Man... and doesn't even realize that he's a criminal, merely giving him a lecture on how dangerous it is to paraglide in a city, especially one with blimps, and damages his rig to make sure that he can't just fly off again after Danny leaves.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Upon seeing Condiment Man at Bat-Burger, Danny is ecstatic to realize that Batman has a villain comparable to Danny's own Box Ghost.
  • Outside-Context Problem: The Batfamily has no prior experience or knowledge of ghosts, so Danny's existence, and presence in Gotham, completely throws them for a loop, especially with how many powers he demonstrates.
  • Tempting Fate: After Danny ends up in Gotham, he notes that he has his phone... only for it to break as he pulls it out. He notes that he should have seen that coming.
