Becca was just a typical American tourist in Mexico trying to see family and enjoy the sights. Unfortunately, she meets a premature demise and now has to cope with an even more hectic afterlife.
Music of the Altercontains the following examples:
- Annoying Younger Sibling: Trevor, Becca’s younger sibling, is bratty and impulsive, causing Becca no small amount of grief.
- Big Brother Instinct: Becca has to save her brother from going over a cliff that gets her sent to an afterlife.
- Celestial Bureaucracy: The Land of the Dead has one, but unfortunately for Rebecca, they can’t find any of her undead relatives on her American side, and she doesn’t know any relatives on her Mexican side, forcing Hector to act as her caretaker.
- Dark Is Not Evil: The ghosts and ghouls Becca meets are scary skeletons but are kind and sympathetic to her plight.
- Faint in Shock: Becca does this when she feels her face and realizes she’s become an undead ghost.
- Heroic BSoD: Becca runs away and eventually breaks down and cries when she realizes she’s dead.
- That Was Not a Dream: Becca initially thinks she is dreaming about dying and meeting ghosts after she wakes up from her faint, only to see her skeleton hand and realize she’s not dreaming.
