The Assistant
is a fanfiction posted on Archive of Our Own and written by Fleeting Frost X.
Jack's Adventures' first entry into the series, The Assistant, has three individual sections that comprise the whole of The Assistant section of the timeline. The series is, in essence, a The Legend of Zelda fanfiction, but can contain other works as well, and may not include any inspiration from The Legend of Zelda at all.
Tropes:
- Absurdly Sharp Blade: Jack's blade, that he inherited from his father, seems to never dull, even after brutally murdering multiple enemies.
- First-Episode Twist: In the 4th Chapter, it is revealed that the real world actually has fantasy and mythology elements, and that the queen had fabricated a 'real world' to the people of Eunia all along.
- Also considered a reveal because of the surprise existence of lizardmen from the previous chapter.

Spiritual Successor: The work is meant to be a prequel to the main The Legend of Zelda games. - Stealth Sequel: On first glance, The Assistant may seem to be original, yet still contains elements from and is inspired by The Legend of Zelda.
