- Becoming the Mask: So much time has passed pretending to be insane, it's possible she actually did without realizing it.
- Complexity Addiction: A long eight years are willingly spent in a mental asylum as part of the Evil Plan.
- Flash Fiction: It's only 754 words.
- Long Game: Azula knows no one could win against the Avatar, even with all the resources in the world. She also knows she herself is not capable yet. And so, she chooses to play the waiting game until she is.
- Sanity Slippage: She fakes it per her grand scheme.
- The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Azule believes only she is capable of doing what no else has done-kill the Avatar.
- Villainous Breakdown: Zig-zagged, as while she did technically fake it, it's not so clear is she didn't succumb to madness in any way at all.
- Xanatos Gambit: She has meticulously planned every move such that it benefits her eventual escape.
