It's a Good Life, If You Don't Weaken is a graphic novel by Canadian cartoonist Seth. It is semi-autobiographical, it features himself as the protagonist and draws from his own life, but the plot is fictional.
Provides examples of:
- Bittersweet Ending: Seth manages to track down Kalo's family but is unable to recover any of his works.
- Born in the Wrong Century: Seth is obsessed with the past and thinks he would be happier living in the 1920s or 30s.
- The '50s: Seth associates Canada with this decade in his thoughts, while he associates the US with The '40s.
- Scenery Porn: A large portion of the comic is devoted to depicting Canada in Winter.
- Slice of Life: The story mostly focuses on Seth's daily life and his search for Kalo.
- Smoking Hot Sex: Seth and Ruthie.
- Sweetie Graffiti: Someone did this on a cactus in a greenhouse, much to Seth's annoyance.
- They Don't Make Them Like They Used To: Seth has this feeling about old buildings, museum exhibits, and well...ok, everything.
- Time Skip: Two years pass between part 4 and 5.
