Arachna is an indie superhero comic-book series created by Martti Kauppenin and Carlos Grande and published by X53 Studios.
Jennie Janus is the wall-crawling heroine Arachna, who uses her superior agility and reflexes and her ability to stick to walls to fight crime.
This series contains examples of:
- Boxing Lessons for Superman: In "The Most Dangerous Game", Jennie is offered martial-arts training by Ji-ho, an old Korean master.
- Clothing Damage: In "The Most Dangerous Game", Arachna's costume gets torn up by rat creatures.
- Mad Scientist: One of Arachna's enemies is the mad scientist Doctor Diabolique, who likes to splice rat genes into homeless people to create an army of mooks.
- Old Master: Ji-ho is an old martial-arts master from South Korea. In the second issue, he offers Arachna training, noting that for all her abilities, her fighting form leaves much to be desired.
- Shout-Out: The first villain we see Arachna fighting is a bondage-themed bruiser called Gorean.
- Stripperific: Arachna's costume is mostly skintight, but has a boob window and slits in the thighs.
- Unskilled, but Strong: Arachna relies heavily on her superpowers rather than any formal training, which often gets her in trouble against stronger opponents.
