Official Name: Großgermanische Reich der Deutschen Nation Click To Show
Ruling Party: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei Click To Show
Ideology: Hermann Göring Thoughtnote

After Hitler's death, Hermann Göring became the Führer and implemented reforms to make National Socialism sustainable. However, there were obstacles, and the biggest amongst them were the Militarists, led by Ferdinand Schörner. In 1971, Schörner took advantage of the Oil Crisis to launch a coup against Göring but failed miserably. in 1974,Göring passed away, Hans-Ulrich Rudel became the next leader and imposed more conservative policies. During the mid-1970s, Germany experienced a series of riots in which far-left militia cells launched a small rebellion called the 'Aufstand'. Rudel crushed all dissidents using force and brought stability; however, it was at the expense of his popularity. Later, the Russian Federation launched the Second West Russian War, resulting in the loss of Moskowien. A dying Rudel was overthrown by Rudolf Kendzia who favoured more economic reforms. Kendzia's leadership brought prosperity once again to Germany during the late 1980s and the 1990s. Nevertheless, his successor and the current Führer, Jürgen Schützinger refuses to make any further changes and even establishes ties with reactionary elements. Schützinger's rule is marked with industrial stagnation, uncontrolled corruption and increasing authoritarianism. With a deterioriating situation, will the Reichsadler be able to fly high?

Führer

    Hermann Göring (1963-1974)
Role: Führernote
Party: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei
Faction: Goering
Ideology: Hermann Göring Thoughtnote

  • Internal Reformist: Göring was moderate and didn't want to preserve the core ideals of National Socialism. He implemented economic, social and military reforms to make Germany more efficient in the Cold War.
  • Smarter Than You Look: Under his reign, Göring favored scientific advancements in order to improve the Wehrmacht's fighting capability and also Germany's industrial output This led to the modernization of the obsolete Wehrmacht and the rise of German economy. In the field of technology, the prototype of the 'Reichsnetzwerk' was first launched in 1969, giving birth to the predecessor of today's modern internet.
  • Corrupt Politician: Although a reformist at heart, Göring was also kleptocratic and liked enriching himself and his fellow generals. This is shown by Göring's extensive decorations of his uniform, which made him look rather affluent and fancy.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Despite his reformist outlook, one must not forget the fact that Göring was still a dedicated National Socialist.

    Hans-Ulrich Rudel (1974-1981)
Party: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei
Faction: Rudel
Ideology: Hermann Göring Thoughtnote

  • Evil Reactionary: While Rudel maintains most of Göring's pragmatic legacy, he disdained his predecessor's opportunistic nature and believed that Göring was too corrupt. He reverted most of Göring's political reforms and wanted the NSDAP to have absolute control over the populace. Rudel was also quite hawkish and intended to ruin the relationships with the United States of America and the Empire of Japan.
  • Big Brother Is Watching: Rudel was also keen on suppressing the people through securocratic means. The Gestapo was given free reins to arrest anyone deemed to be resistant to his rule and used mass surveillance system to monitor the daily life of the German populace.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: As a hardliner, Rudel made a surprising choice to give amnesty to former members of the Militarist faction, in case they were willing to serve with loyalty to the new master.
  • Allfor Nothing: Rudel's efforts to build his strongman image were all vain when Shukshin's Russian Federation reclaimed Moskowien in 1981. An old, senile Rudel was then kicked from his office by Rudolf Kendzia.

    Rudolf Kendzia (1981-2003)
Party: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei
Faction: Kendzia
Ideology: Hermann Göring Thoughtnote

  • Internal Reformist: Unlike Hans-Ulrich Rudel, Kendzia continued to push for further economic liberalization and scientific advancement. He also made deals with the dissidents and persecuted thousands of reactionaries, including NSDAP bureaucrats, Gestapo officers and Wehrmacht commanders in a campaign known as 'De-Rudelization'. The Kendzia Era also saw the birth of the 'Radical Reformists' which would consist of younger NSDAP members who see Kendzia's leadership as the first step to abolishing the corrupt National Socialist system and replace it with a much more non-conformist one.
  • Hegemonic Empire: In the 1990s, Kendzia launched many megaprojects to expand the power and influence of Germany as well as to show off its technological might in front of other superpowers. Most notably, he built the Stendel Nuclear Power Plant and expanded the Reichsautobahn across all of Europe. The Reichsnetzwerk was also significant upgraded and transformed into a powerful tool for access to unlimited knowledge rather than a mere tool for surveillance.
  • Enemy Mine: Kendzia swayed many liberal elements who outright despised National Socialism and advocated for a minor manifestation of 'democracy'. From moderate rightists to economically-liberal nationalists, Kendzia's allies were many.

    Jürgen Schützinger (2003-)
Party: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei
Faction: Schützinger
Ideology: Hermann Göring Thoughtnote

  • Beneath the Mask: Schützinger likes to call himself Kendzia's closest ally and tries to maintain policies that make his leadership look like Kendzia's as much as possible; however, he still can't hide the fact that he has already become too close to the reactionaries like Manfred Börm.
  • Puppet King: Schützinger's low popularity means he has to rely more on the reactionaries which in turn empowers them. As time passes, Schützinger's leadership becomes even more conservative and corrupt, leading to inefficient bureaucracy and public dissatisfaction.
  • The Paranoiac: Like Rudel, Schützinger wants to protect his rule at all costs. The Gestapo is now equipped with more advanced equipment than ever, meaning Schützinger has even more control over the populace.
  • Opportunistic Bastard: Schützinger becomes more friendly to Börm's clique as he wants more influence. Intrigued by the charisma and ideals of Manfred Börm, Schützinger appoints him as the Parteiminister. In exchange, Börm becomes Schützinger's staunch supporter; nevertheless, this is just a part of Börm's plan to stab him in the back and ascend to the throne.

Flag of Großgermanisches Reich
Official Name: Deutsches Notfallverteidigungsrat
Ruling Party: Verteidigungsliga
Ideology: Stratocratic Corporatismnote

Joachim Wundrak

Role: Head of State
Party: Verteidigungsliga
Ideology: Stratocratic Corporatismnote

  • Meet the New Boss: Wundrak is an influential general in Schuster's junta. However, he perceives Schuster as an 'incapable and inexperieneced' leader. Wundrak unironically has much more authority than Schuster himself, which explains how easily it is for Schuster to get overthrown by him at the beginning of the German Civil War.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Unlike Schuster, Wundrak isn't too interested in the militaristic way of governance. He will later adopt the more orthodox form of Hermann Göring Thought and sees it as the only solution to make Germany great again.
  • Evil Reactionary: If Wundrak's regime manages to reunify Germany, he will initiate purges within his cabinet and officer corps. A cult of personality will be forged in favor of Wundrak, portraying him as the true reincarnation of the glorious Reichsmarshall Hermann Göring. Even though minor reforms will be made, Wundrak's methods will be rather oppressive.

    Deutsches Helisarmee
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/militarbezirkbialystokstage1.png
Flag of Großgermanisches Helisbund
Official Name: Deutsches Helisarmee
Ruling Party: Armee der Nationalen Rettung

Marko Gross

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/markogorss.png
Marko Gross (made by Dem)
Role: Head of State
Party: Armee der Nationalen Rettung
Ideology: Stratocracynote

  • Historical Villain Upgrade: In OTL, Gross is an ex-military far-right conspirator who formed the 'Nordkreuz' group which consisted of KSK soldiers, police officers and civilians. He thought that Germany was facing a secret invasion orchestrated by immigrants and wanted to prepare at all costs. In this timeline, he is a high-ranking general in the Wehrmacht, who initially supports Maximilian Eder but quickly feels betrayed as he discovers where Eder's true allegiance lies. When Schuster launches a counter-coup against Eder and fails to manage the situation afterwards, Gross doesn't hesitate and mobilizes his loyal forces in the South.
  • Blood Knight: In this timeline, Gross is a fervent National Socialist at first; however, he takes a more bizarre path as instability continues to depower Germany. He creates an ultranationalist hypothesis in which the Judeo-Bolshevik world (which is pretty much the entire world, according to Gross' ultra-racist mindset) launches a brutal invasion of Germany when the country is weak and unprepared; he always refers to it as 'Day X' and spread his ideals throughout the officer corps. Gross is very paranoid, and he tries to prepare for 'Day X' with the most extreme methods possible. Much as the mainstream militarists despises him, Gross' fanatic path receives support from a huge amount of soldiers.
  • General Ripper: As a horrible fanatic as he is, it isn't quite surprising that he allows weapons of mass destruction to be used during the German Civil War, which often results in unthinkable casualties on both sides.

    Deutsches Freiheitsarmee

Flag of Deutsches Übergangsbehörde
Official Name: Deutsches Freiheitssarmee, Deutsches Übergangsbehörde (post-war)
Ruling Party: Militärrat für die Nationale Befreiung
Ideology: Military Juntanote

Kai Rohrschneider

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kai_rohrschneider_stage_1.png
Kai Rohrschneider (made by Jack)
Role: Head of State
Party: Militärrat für die Nationale Befreiung
Ideology: Military Juntanote , Provisional Governmentnote

  • Defector from Decadence: Rohrschneider heavily despises Nazism and only wants freedom for Germany. As one of the biggest voices in the army, Rohrschneider vows to overthrow the Nazis' tyrannical and corrupt rule to bring justice to the nationa and Europe as a whole.
  • Elite Army: To prepare for the German Civil War, Rohrschneider successfully rallies some of the most well-equipped armored divisions in Germany and bring them to the West, where he is ready to confront any attacks from other factions.
  • Benevolent Conspiracy: Witnessing Eder and Schuster's brutal suppression of the people, Rohrschneider escapes from his post and immediately broadcasts anti-Nazi messages in the West, gathering support from like-minded citizens and soldiers. Schuster, enraged by his defiance, plans to respond with ruthlessness, but is quickly interrupted by other huge rebellions.

    Nationale Patriotische Kräfte
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nationalpatrioticforces1.png
Flag of Großgermanisches Reichsstaat
Official Name: Nationale Patriotische Kräfte, Großgermanisches Reichsstaat (post-war)
Ruling Party: Organisation zur Erhaltung der Deutschen Nation
Ideology: National Socialism

Rüdiger von Pescatore

Role: Head of State
Party: Organisation zur Erhaltung der Deutschen Nation
Ideology: National Socialism

  • Beneath the Mask: Pescatore tries to appear as a staunch supporter of National Socialism on the outside, but this is merely a strategy to rally the support of hardline generals in the Wehrmacht. He simply views it as a 'necessary step' for the nation before giving way to an exotic monarchy, with ultranationalist and esoteric characteristics.
  • People Puppets: Little does Pescatore know that to Heinrich XIII Prinz Reuss, he is just an efficient tool to take control of some parts of the Wehrmacht and dedicate to Reuss until the end. Should the Nationale Patriotische Kräfte win the German Civil War, Pescatore will be downgraded to the leader of the army, while Reuss himself enjoys absolute power and is hailed as the 'savior' of the German nation.
  • Old Soldier: Like many German generals in DOC, Pescatore has served in the Wehrmacht for a very long time. Having fought in many of the Reich's wars in both the 20th and 21th centuries (notably the Second West Russian War), Pescatore earns his reputation as an experienced and seasoned commander.

Heinrich XIII Prinz Reuss

Role: Head of State (post-war)
Party: House of Reuss
Ideology: Esoteric Despotismnote

  • Evil Puppeteer: While Pescatore appears to be the head of the Nationale Patriotische Kräfte, Reuss is the mastermind who gives orders and control all sort of affairs.
  • Evil Reactionary: While Reuss doesn't necessarily believe in National Socialism, he views the Aryan race above all and maintains an extremely xenophobic and anti-Semitic stance. Some might say that he is worse due to his love for eccentric conspiracy theories, which makes his rule look more esoteric and unpredictable.
  • Nazi Nobleman: Interestingly, before the German Civil War, Reuss is in fact one of the aristocrats who join the NSDAP and fully embrace the ideology of National Socialism.
