- Jimenez's work on the first issue would win him a well-deserved Eisner in that year's awards ceremony. Along with the issue also winning the "Best Single Issue" award.
- Hippolyta racing after the baby girl (which isn't even hers) that she had to leave in a river as part of her duties as a midwife for what the narration says goes from days, to weeks, to entire seasons. Without a hint of stopping.
- The Amazons making their first proper appearance in the series by rescuing Hippolyta from the slaver brigands who had her at their mercy.
- Hippolyta speaking up for herself, and the other mortal women, the Amazons Queens on why they should be made Amazons.
- Issue #3 has the Curb-Stomp Battle of the Amazons vs. Heracles.
- Over 10 years since DC's tossing out of the clay origin in favor of making Diana one of Zeus' offspring, Diana's classic origin makes a big and beautifully rendered, via Nicola Scott's art, return at the end of issue #3
