One of the requisites to be a Complete Monster is: \"no altruistic qualities\"

** Heihachi is a good example of why this is a YMMV trope. Heihachi has had his hand in some pretty terrible things over the course of the series (locking Jinpachi underneath Hon-Maru in order to become the owner of the Zaibatsu, throwing Kazuya--only a child at the time--over a cliff just to force him to seek power, using his grandson as live bait to attract an ancient monster then shooting him in cold blood once his plan had succeeded), but he's also used his Tekken Force to enact some very charitable activities around the world. He also really loves his pet bear, Kuma (and later its son).
** If you're feeling paranoid, then you can interpret all those charitable activities as Heihachi's move to hide his MUCH more nefarious plans, setting him up as a VillainWithGoodPublicity rather than doing it out of true kindness. Although as noted by the game itself, Kazuya was much more remorseless while running ''Tekken 2''

* CrowningMomentOfFunny: Lee's ''5'' ending. [[spoiler:To elaborate: he wins the tournament and makes Heihachi his ''butler''. While he's attending to him (and his girls) by his estate pool, he mutters threats under his breath... just as Lee reminds him that there is a bomb in the bowtie he's wearing, and Lee has the detonator with him. ** Very much YMMV. While it does depart from the game storyline, it also maintains a lot of the core story and character elements. The actors look and dress like their counterparts, and the fighting styles displayed are fairly distinct. Taken on its own merits, it is well-written, well-acted, and well-paced. I doubt it would have done well had it been released in the US theatrically simply because so many people would hide behind this trope.

His Laser Scraper combo (if properly-timed) and a recovery time that was faster in most situations that most of the cast gave him viable tools to constantly apply pressure to his opponents. The end result? You're looking at the sole occupant of [[CharacterTiers top tier]] in high-level TournamentPlay. Jin endured quite a bit of TierInducedScrappy disdain during this time.

At most, you'll get a joke ending on how your character had the snot beaten out of them, or won a tournament... only to be upstaged, such as Paul beating up Ogre, then leaving for Jin to fight True Ogre.
** Kind of a half-subversion. Seeing as the host of the tournament has always been a Mishima and the fact the overarching plot of the games as a whole exists to tell their story, this might not be that big of a problem (while there are lots of characters who suffer for the overbearing plot domination of the Mishimas, in a sense they "bought" the spotlight in the first place). Besides, a lot of endings do become canonical (minus actually winning the tournament) and the character's role in the next game is built on the result of their ending (such as King's from ''Tekken 4'').
