** The film's instrumental score by art-pop duo Tune-Yards is also a thing to behold, perfectly capturing the film's absurdist feel.

Now an index rather than a trope.

* AcceptableTargets: Capitalism as a whole, but especially the upper-class people who benefit from it, who are universally portrayed as hedonistic, uncultured idiots.

Uncanny Valley is IUEO now and the subjective version has been split; cleaning up misuse and ZCE in the process

* UncannyValley: A presumably intentional example. Cash and Mr. _______'s White voices don't quite match their actors' lip movements or [[VocalDissonance appearances]], causing them to feel disconcerting and unnatural. Justified, as the "White voices" are meant to convey a sense of artificiality, loss of identity and corporate sterility.

* AssPull: Even given the movie's "CapitalismIsBad" message, TheReveal that [[spoiler: [=WorryFree=] is trying to make ''literal'' workhorses out of people through combining human and horse DNA]] comes out of left field for some.

** TheReveal that [[spoiler:[=WorryFree=] is transforming its workers into [[HumanoidAbomination half-human/half-horse hybrids]] to speed up production.]] While absolutely '''nobody''' saw it coming on first viewing, some feel it fits with the movie's anti-capitalist message while also being [[CrossesTheLineTwice strangely hilarious]] at the same time, not to mention surprisingly {{foreshadow|ing}}ed. Others believe it to be an ''immensely'' strange ShockingSwerve that puts them off the rest of the movie.

Fridge goes on its own page.

* FridgeBrilliance: It makes sense that Cash's attempt at [[spoiler:exposing Worryfree's equisapiens backfired]]. He did it on a SadistShow that thrives on humiliating participants, so it's unlikely that any of the viewers would be disturbed by this reveal.
* FridgeHorror: Lift says he wants to make Cash "[[spoiler:the equisapien]] UsefulNotes/MartinLutherKingJr" and offers him a five-year contract as this [[spoiler:MoleInCharge]]. Even going by the HollywoodHistory of King's noteworthiness as an activist beginning with his August 1963 March on Washington where he gave the "I Have a Dream" speech, he was murdered barely more than four and a half years later in April 1968. Lift might well have planned to off Cash before the five years were up.
* FridgeLogic: Detroit tells Cash that [[spoiler:she and Squeeze did "everything but" have sex]]. This makes a lot more sense when you remember that [[spoiler:Squeeze all but confessed to having contracted an STD on live television]] earlier in the film.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment: The twist of [[spoiler: Worry Free turning people into horses]] and the cult that springs up around it was brought up by several viewers years later during the COVID-19 pandemic when, due to widespread misinformation, hundreds of people were reported as taking Ivermectin - a horse-deworming medicine - as a so-called "miracle cure".
* HilariousInHindsight: [[Film/LittleWoods This isn't the only film where Lily James and Tessa Thompson would be in the same film together.]]
