* {{Narm}}: During Slade's attack on Ra's' fortress, you can see one guy literally just... ''stop'' when a Slade mook is pointing a gun at him and try to block it instead of, you know, just killing him. The fact that he stopped to block makes it look pretty stupid.
** It's hard to tell if the cut from Nightwing saying its impossible to Damian swimming out to the oil rig is meant to be played for laughs or not.

It's up to the viewer to decide whether they enjoy him or not.

* OneSceneWonder: ComicBook/RasAlGhul only shows up once before being rendered DeaderThanDead, but [[BadassGrandpa what]] [[CoolOldGuy an]] [[ReasonableAuthorityFigure appearance]] [[EvilIsCool it is]]. Plenty of ninjas get sliced and diced before [[BigBad Slade finally shows up.]] From there though, [[KilledOffForReal he's done]].

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Talia reveals that she had to drug Bruce and rape him in order for Damian to even be born. An action that has not exactly helped her popularity.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Talia may be lying that the Lazarus Pit won't revive Ra's. After all, given her often tumultuous relationship with him, it might have been a good opportunity for her to eliminate him for good. She is, after all, willing to [[spoiler: rape Batman]] to conceive a child. Also, she doesn't seem to be very broken up about Ra's death.
* AngstWhatAngst: Talia al Ghul doesn't seem too upset about her father's death. This is lampshaded by Batman. Possibly by EpilepticTrees.
* EpilepticTrees: Quite a few people think Ra's is just hiding, as we never see what happened to his body and this is ''[[DeathIsCheap Ra's al Ghul]]''.
** Jossed in ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueVsTeenTitans'' when [[spoiler:Damian encounter's Ra's soul in hell.]]

** Damian's portrayal as a Jedi-like fighter is already a little ridiculous, but his ability to fight after having his arms pinned with a steel blade through them is even worse.

** Talia and Ra's both being jobbed to build up Deathstroke as a threat, with Ra's dying quickly and Talia still having UnfortunateImplications follow her around.
** Nightwing being portrayed as a JerkAss who couldn't stand the thought of Damian wearing his Robin suit. This is in stark contrast to the comic, in which [[BigBrotherMentor Dick Grayson]] himself appointed Damian as Robin, in hopes of mentoring him and raising him to be a better person.
** And probably the biggest hurdle the film faces: ToughActToFollow. The story is an AdaptationDistillation of one of the most epic Batman storyline in the last 20 years, so they have to match that. This movie also follows behind the animated adaptations of WesternAnimation/BatmanTheDarkKnightReturns, possibly the most important story to the mythos, and an adaptation that required a two parter. And even the individual characters and voice actors have some tall shoes to fill: Deathstroke in particular is succeeding Ron Perlman's take on the character and competing with Manu Bennett's on Arrow.

* TheScrappy: Damien Wayne. Fans of his comic portrayal see the animated portrayal as far less interesting and too much of an unlikable jerk that this film and the next several spend [[CharacterShilling shilling]] as this "ultimate badass" that's better at everything than anyone else.

* TheyWastedAPefectlyGoodPlot: Batman and Deathstroke get very little interaction in the movie even though Deathstroke's plan is basically out of jealousy of him and even in Deathstroke's rant at the end everything he says is pointed towards Bruce and sounds like it'd be better said to him than Damian.

* MartyStu: Damian's fighting prowess goes from pretty awesome to flat out impossible. Special note to his [[ImplausibleFencingPowers deflecting gunshots with his sword]].
** Batman as well, to a lesser extent. From his curbstomping of Deathstroke to throwing several Man-Bats off of him and Robin just by flexing (a feat that should be impossible without superstrength).
