* ThatOneLevel: The wall-climbing level in stage four certainly counts. On top of all the objects falling on you (only one of which you can actually destroy), there's also opening/closing panels that will shake you off if you're on one for too long. As if that wasn't bad enough, the objects that come falling down at you aren't interrupted by an opening panel, and you can't even shoot through a panel either. Adding on to this, since this is a minigame, Nick Tickets won't work, meaning that one screw-up also means that ''Nick can't revive you''. That image of a crossed-out Nick Ticket may as well be replaced with a middle finger at that point.

*** Zombie Baseball is often a sticking point for first-time players, as many won't have realized by this point that the game has an auto-aim feature, which is on by default. With it disabled, the minigame is fairly easy; with it on, it's nearly impossible. It's likely to be the first place where you die.

While Nick treats the situation a little more seriously, even he doesn't really seem to grasp how much of a massacre the rotting of San Romero High is.

* BreatherBoss: Compared to the other Dark Purveyors, the battle against Josey is the least chaotic and he only has 2 phases (the others get 3 at least). Josey is also fought after Mariska (who utilizes a claustrophobic battle against Juliet) and before Lewis Legend (who has 8 phases and is the last of the Purveyors). That said, you do have to race against the clock during his second phase, which can quickly become stressful.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: When the game was released, Juliet was criticized for being a sexualized female lead and the creators were accused of sexism. In an interview with Destructoid, James Gunn addressed these criticisms and made a logical and rational argument in response. His argument was that sex positivity is often confused for sexism and the two can intertwine without anyone realizing it. How a woman dresses, be it conservatively, provocatively, or anywhere in between isn't sexist or demeaning to women. How a person acts or responds to a situation is what's important. Trying to make a character [[FlawlessToken as empowering and inoffensive as possible]] is just as sexist since you're still objectifying a person for selfish reasons.
--> "Well, listen, like it or not we are, actually, all objects," he responded. "Our physical forms -- and the idealized forms of those physical forms we find in pop culture -- are something most of us find appealing, whether it's Juliet's butt or Batman's ripped abs. Lollipop Chainsaw is titillating, for sure. A lot of that is just because Lollipop Chainsaw took an everything-and-the-kitchen-sink approach -- it's utterly shameless in that regard. And there's a lot of grindhouse and Russ Myer in LC -- a fun, floppy, over-the-top sexuality that plays with those old forms but is self–aware of them the entire time. But I think it's important people don't confuse sexuality with sexism. There is nothing in the game, ever, that makes females somehow less than males. To be honest, I think a lot of the criticisms of LC's 'sexism' are really coming from a place where the secret message is sex is bad, sexual attraction is bad, lust is bad. I was raised Catholic: I get it. Yes, Juliet Starling is hot as hell. And, yes, that probably helps to sell copies of the game. But my question is, so what? How in the world does that convey that women are less than men?"

* CompleteMonster: [[BigBad Swan]] is a student at San Romero High School who uses [[BlackMagic necromancy]] to start a ZombieApocalypse as [[DisproportionateRetribution revenge for being mistreated at school]]. A [[EmoTeen gothic]] [[LonersAreFreaks outcast]] who was cruelly bullied, Swan subverts a FreudianExcuse by ordering the zombies under his control to infect everyone in their path rather than only those who tormented him; this results in the deaths of many innocent people. He states that being rejected by [[TheProtagonist Juliet]] [[PlayerCharacter Juliet Starling]] was what sent him over the edge, but the game's cutscenes show [[StalkerWithACrush him watching her from afar without ever speaking to her]]. This suggests that [[SelfServingMemory he's exaggerating when he accuses her of "rejecting him"]] and had taken it as a personal offense when she started dating another guy. His ultimate plan is to use Juliet as a pawn in his ritual to summon an enormous super zombie in order to destroy [[MisanthropeSupreme what he sees as a rotten world]], all because [[EvilIsPetty he got picked on and couldn't talk to a girl he liked]].

* FashionVictimVillain: Josey's outfit is not so much a statement as it is a haphazard collage of ideas. His head looks like it belongs on [[BorrowinSamedi Baron Samedi]] (including a massive top-hat with skulls on it), he wears a garishly pink fur-coat with hands full of bling, comically large high heeled boots and a ''diaper''.

Though considering [[{{Funk}} the genre he embodies]], it would have been odd if the trope didn't apply at least a ''little'' bit.
