Using his organization and a nightmarish guardrail creature to murder dozens of people who stumble onto his operation over the years while coldly disposing of or abandoning his own allies when it suits him, [[spoiler:Toru]] uses his Stand, [[spoiler:Wonder of U]], to murder the parents of Rai Mamezuku, a reporter investigating him, and plenty of unsuspecting bystanders who get caught up in its effects. When confronted by the heroes, [[spoiler:Toru]] [[HeroKiller orchestrates the deaths]] of [[spoiler:Rai, Kei, and Jobin]] while endangering [[Characters/JoJosBizarreAdventureJoJolionTheHigashikataFamily the entire Higashikata family]], and tries to [[spoiler:sacrifice Yasuho]] to save his own life. [[spoiler:Toru]] plans to flood the BlackMarket with Locacaca and sit back as its effects throw the world into chaos, leaving only himself to rise above the ashes of upheaval as [[AGodAmI a supreme being]], caring only for his power base and belief that his memories will be all that is left of humanity when he is through.

** Many fans even argue that Josuke ''himself'' was wasted, as his ability, Soft & Wet, had the ability to steal literal concepts from other people via soap "bubbles." However, as the manga progressed, Josuke limited his uses for it and began to just simply use the bubbles themselves to deal physical damage against his foes. Many also dislike that he lost his goofy personality as the story went on and became more serious.

** Josuke, just like his [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable original counterpart]]. {{Cloudcuckoolander}}? Check. Obsession with measurements? Check. Strange habits such as sleeping ''under'' the mattress because the weight of the mattress makes him comfortable? Check. High intellect? Check. An abysmal grasp of common sense caused by the fact that [[AmnesiacHero he doesn't have any memories]]? Checkmate.

* BaseBreakingCharacter: The BigBad was a huge mystery for most of ''[=JoJolion=]'''s run, so the revelation of their identity was far from universally beloved. [[spoiler:Many people didn't like Toru as the main villain with complaints such as him being introduced too late, his much less menacing design compared to other main villains, and that he is such a major HeroKiller who offs so many beloved characters before they really have a chance to shine and thus being the character most responsible for a lot of this part's TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter reactions. However, there are also some who like him precisely because of his mysterious background and motivation and his exceptionally memorable, dangerous Stand.]]

* TheScrappy: Joshu is widely hated for his ugly design as well as behavior that ranges from "spoiled brat" to "sexual predator", effectively making him a {{Yandere}} minus the {{Moe}} charm that makes that trope appealing. While it briefly seemed like he could be RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap when he [[spoiler:offered to sacrifice himself to save Yasuho's life through equivalent exchange]], even that fell through when it turned out his true intentions in that moment were just as perverted and creepy as ever.

* MoralEventHorizon:
** Damo crossed it when he attempted to have Josefumi and Kira make a SadisticChoice by forcing one to betray the other for their lives.
** Dr. Wu having Mitsuba [[spoiler:unknowingly use her unborn child for EquivalentExchange]] would not necessarily have made him totally unforgivable on its own, since [[spoiler:the results of Equivalent Exchange are random]]. Rather, it's his dismissive reaction to realizing what he did, saying that it's not too bad since [[spoiler:the fetus was only 14 weeks old]], that crosses the line of redeemability.
** Jobin crossed it when [[spoiler:after killing Ojiro (which is somewhat justified, since he came for him and his son), he left his body in his (non-Stand user) girlfriend's pool, cell phone waiting to kill her as soon as she answered it. Her young daughter was a single second away from picking it up herself, [[WouldHurtAChild and Jobin had no real way of – or apparent interest in – preventing this random chance]]. He even tells the woman that he ''would'' have killed her child if she were a Stand user too]].
** [[spoiler:Toru]] might have already done it at various points, though most of it was due to the effects of Calamity influenced by his stand Wonder of U rather than him doing the deed directly. But he definitely crossed it when he attempts to [[spoiler:perform the EquivalentExchange on [[KickTheMoralityPet Yasuho]] to heal his own mangled body at the cost of hers]].

** Tamaki Damo has a [[HeartIsAnAwesomePower seemingly harmless yet lethally effective Stand]] that he uses to effortlessly disable not only the entire Higashikata household, but NoSell [[spoiler:the part's iteration of Killer Queen Bites the Dust, which had been nigh-unstoppable in its Part 4 predecessor's debut]] with relative ease. Additionally, he has a charismatic mix of no-nonsense professionalism and [[LoveToHate gleeful sadism]], and nothing of his {{Gonk}} appearance detracts from his threat. It got to the point where they wished he and not [[spoiler:Toru]] was the actual BigBad of the part.
