* CompleteMonster: ComicBook/LexLuthor is a [[VillainWithGoodPublicity respected businessman who helped revolutionized the city of Metropolis]]; his reputation is just a means to hide his glory and greed. Along with his accomplice Hamilton, Luthor [[WouldHurtAChild murdered an infant Kal-El]] with kryptonite and used his corpse as an energy source for his labs, making him millions while Luthor left Hamilton with nothing and ruined his life due to attempting to expose his crimes to the public. Luthor was also responsible for hiring Joe Chill to murder the Waynes, including their son Bruce Wayne, making him indirectly responsible for the death of Barbara Gordon's parents. Luthor conspires with ComicBook/TheJoker to get rid of Supergirl and Batgirl, so he could use Supergirl's corpse the same way he did to her infant cousin. Having Joker beat Supergirl nearly to death, Luthor taunts her about the fact he'll make her species extinct, how he murdered her stillborn, and claimed he didn't murder anyone as [[FantasticRacism aliens are worthless and have no equal rights as humans]].

* FoeYay: In a twisted mirror of the main Joker's obsession with Batman, this Joker is just as lovingly obsessed with Batgirl, if not ''even more so''. And as usual, it is entirely one-sided.

** In ''ComicBook/ActionComics #275'', Kara dreams that Superman never turned up and she lived her cousin's life. In this work, written 37 years after, Superman never turned up and Supergirl was world's greatest hero... because [[spoiler:Lex Luthor found Kal-El's rocket and murdered the baby]].
*** It becomes even worse knowing that the Post-Crisis Kara was originally sent to Earth to watch over her baby cousin. One can only imagine Kara growing up wondering what became of her little cousin.
** The Joker having a crush on Batgirl was a disturbing concept back then, even if it was played for laughs… but ''ComicBook/DeathOfTheFamily'' turned it into sheer nightmare fuel.

** The Joker saying he is not behind money and he can't be bought reminds of ''Film/TheDarkKnight''...
** Kara's suit is almost exactly like what Superman has worn since ComicBook/FlashPoint, with her cape coming out of her logo, the lack of UnderwearOfPower, and sleeves that go beyond her wrists. The only thing missing are the visible seams.

** Kara's suit doesn't have UnderwearOfPower, like the ComicBook/New52 version (and others since) of her cousin.
