** Erudites with the "Convert Spell to Power" alternate class feature. Regular Erudites can learn every psionic power there is and use them spontaneously for as long as their {{Mana Meter}}s hold out. Spell-to-Power Erudites can do that, too...plus they can also learn every arcane spell in the game and convert them to psionic powers, which means they can "cast" them using the same mana meter system ''and'' ignore both arcane spell failure and expensive material components. A Spell-to-Power Erudite who can learn 9th Level spells is basically a demigod.
** The Illithid Savant prestige class (although, honestly, if your DM lets you play as a mind flayer and also lets you take a prestige class clearly designed for NPC use, he deserves what he gets). Basically, the Illithid Savant is like [[{{Series/Heroes}} Sylar]], gaining the powers, special abilities, and even ''spellcasting'' of those whose brains he eats. (For ''extra'' cheese, eat the brain of a Sorcerer or Wizard who can cast Gate. Now if you want a particular ability, just summon up the creature who has it virtually at will.)

Removed natter. The playtest is still in ongoing, and classes have yet to settle into their final forms. This is Complaining About Changes You Dont Like at best.

*** ''Every freaking class in the 5e playtest'' is subject to his. [[TheMedic Clerics]] have been reduced to useless healbots, and [[FragileSpeedster Rogues]] and [[MightyGlacier Fighters]] have been made completely and utterly worthless. ** To be fair, Red Dragons and Gold Dragons were only immune to fire from 2nd Edition onward; in 1st Edition, they merely gained +1 on their saving throws vs. fire. It was a little odd, though, that the Gold Dragons were never shown using their ''other'' breath weapon (poison gas, which even in 2nd Edition the Red Dragons would not have been immune to).

* DiscOneNuke: Base weapon damage is ~1d6+6 (assuming Dex of 18 and short sword). Ambush/Tactical trick grants combat advantage in most situations allowing sneak attack (3d6+6). If you take Surprising Charge feat, +1d6. This alone bloodies a single target making it easy for cleanup - or on a critical hit, either does a OneHitKill or brings down to a sliver of health. You may even throw in backstab for a better chance to hit and additional damage. Not much of an issue, since strikers are supposed to be highly damaging.

* ExecutiveMeddling: First-time filmmaker Courtney Solomon tells a harrowing tale of meddling by TSR's owner (who rejected several famous directors, including JamesCameron and FrancisFordCoppola), by the threat of a lawsuit from Wizards of the Coast who were trying to reclaim the movie rights; the terms of the settlement required, among other things, that he use an old script that had been approved by TSR years ago instead of an updated version that he had wanted to use. [[http://www.chud.com/6592/INTERVIEW-COURTNEY-SOLOMON-AN-AMERICAN-HAUNTING/ Source.]]

* InNameOnly: The film is roundly hated by D&D fans, not only for bearing merely a superficial resemblence to the game, but also for damaging its reputation among the population at large.
** Oddly, if you think about it, the script kinda-sorta reads like it came from a D&D session. Consider some bits of dialogue, like the Dwarf having to point out he's a dwarf, and outright stating, "Dwarfs are afraid of horses." One could definitely see this as written by listening in on a game session with a particularly unimaginative group of players.
*** Website/TheAgonyBooth review, by the end of the film, actually noticed that it does bear a resemblance to a few D&D campaigns. One character is favored inordinately, another hasn't got a clue what's going on, the dungeons are short and dull, the plot is railroaded, and the other players seem to be just watching.
*** On the now-defunct Bad Movie Night webpage, there's a review of the movie told [[http://www.hit-n-run.com/cgi/read_review.cgi?review=53538_rogermw as though it were a 2nd Edition AD&D campaign]]. (Note that the reviewer misidentified the actor who played Snails, which ruins some of his jokes.)

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: There were a lot of things that had to be cut because they didn't have the money to pull them off. Some of these unfinished scenes are on the DVD. Also, see ExecutiveMeddling above.
** Note that the most expensive cut scene actually contained the entire set-up for the main plot! Solomon was then forced to shoehorn in some awkward expository dialogue in the scene directly afterward.
